- Execute system administration activities including account management, software installation, patching, troubleshooting, system monitoring, and performance optimization.
- Install and configure GCCS-J software suites and supporting applications within complex multi-system environments.
- Develop, execute, and document comprehensive test plans, test procedures, and test results supporting GCCS-J software releases and modernization efforts.
- Identify, document, reproduce, and track software defects while collaborating closely with development teams to facilitate issue resolution.
- Support system integration, functional testing, regression testing, and user acceptance testing activities.
- Serve as a Fielding Engineer supporting customer installations, upgrades, demonstrations, training events, and operational deployments.
- Travel to customer locations throughout the United States and internationally to support GCCS-J fielding, sustainment, and user support activities.
- Deliver technical demonstrations and end-user training sessions for military operators, administrators, and government stakeholders.
- Act as the primary point of contact for customer-reported issues, providing technical troubleshooting, issue resolution, and escalation management.
- Lead technical investigations involving software, infrastructure, network, and system integration issues impacting operational capabilities.
- Coordinate with geographically dispersed software development, cybersecurity, systems engineering, and support teams to resolve complex technical challenges.
- Advise government customers on system configuration, integration strategies, baseline upgrades, and adoption of new GCCS-J capabilities.
- Support modernization initiatives focused on cloud-native architectures, microservices, enhanced data integration, and Joint All-Domain Command and Control (JADC2) objectives.
- Maintain technical documentation, installation guides, training materials, and customer support artifacts to support successful field operations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Engineering, or a related technical discipline; equivalent military or industry experience may be considered.
- Experience administering Linux-based operating systems within enterprise or mission-critical environments.
- CompTIA Security+ certification or ability to obtain prior to start date.
- Experience installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and maintaining Linux systems and applications.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across operating systems, applications, and enterprise computing environments.
- Ability to develop and execute test procedures while documenting technical findings and software defects.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to support both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability and willingness to travel CONUS and OCONUS up to 25% or more in support of customer fielding and mission requirements.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating within multidisciplinary engineering and operational teams.
- Active Secret security clearance or Interim Secret clearance with the ability to maintain clearance requirements.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience administering Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 8 environments.
- Experience supporting GCCS-J, Joint Command and Control systems, or other DoD mission command platforms.
