This position serves as the Recipient Rights Integration and Training Program Specialist for assigned Prepaid Inpatient Health Plan (PIHP) regions and MDHHS facilities. As the Recipient Rights Integration and Training Program Specialist, the position provides technical assistance, expertise, and consultation on rights related matters to: 1) rights office staff and administration of licensed hospitals and community-based mental health service providers, 2) MDHHS staff and 3) staff of external agencies, state departments and stakeholders. The position also develops and implements related training courses for presentation to new recipient rights staff, MDHHS staff, recipient rights related committees, executive level staff of licensed psychiatric hospitals and community mental health service programs and their contract providers., Position Location/Remote Office: The physical location of this position is the South Grand Building - 333 S. Grand Ave., Lansing, MI. Based on operational needs and within established limits, remote work and alternate or hybrid work schedule requests for this position may be considered. Selected candidates who have been approved to work remotely or a hybrid schedule must complete that work within Michigan. Candidates should confirm work location and schedule at the time of interview.

  • Relevant experience and/or education referred to in the supplemental questions must be documented in the resume, transcript and/or application to allow for accurate screening.

  • Be able to meet the Long-Term Care Background Check Requirement/SubClass Code -Position has direct access to a patient or resident, or to a patient's or resident's property, financial information, medical records, treatment information, or any other identifying information. As authorized under MCL 333.20173a, MCL 330.1134a, and MCL 440.734b, incumbents must pass and comply with the Long-Term Care (LTC) Background Check at the time of hire and during the duration of employment. The LTC Background Check includes a state and federal fingerprint-based criminal history record check and placement on statewide rapback., Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major., Four years of professional experience equivalent to a Rights Representative or Civil Rights Representative, including two years equivalent to a Rights Representative P11 or Civil Rights Representative P11, or one year equivalent to a Rights Representative 12, Rights Representative Manager 12, Civil Rights Representative 12, or Civil Rights Manager 12., As a Condition of Employment: this position requires successful completion of a background investigation and a criminal records check., RIGHSPL - Do you possess one of the following? A bachelor's degree or higher in any major. If so, please attach a copy of your official college transcripts; OR At least one year of professional experience in the state of Michigan classified service., RIGHSPL - Do you possess at least four years of professional experience equivalent to a Rights Representative or Civil Rights Representative, including two years equivalent to a Rights Representative P11 or Civil Rights Representative P11, or one year equivalent to a Rights Representative 12, Rights Representative Manager 12, Civil Rights Representative 12, or Civil Rights Manager 12?, Please select the years of experience you possess related to developing training., From the list below, please select the following programs you have an advance knowledge or experience with:

  • I am currently suspended with or without pay pending the outcome of an investigation.

  • I have received an unsatisfactory rating within the last two years

  • I have signed a last chance agreement with MDHHS within the last two years

Benefits & conditions

Vacation and Sick Leave:Eligible full-time employees receive between15 and 35 personal daysand 13 sick daysper year that may be rolled over to the following year if not used. Eligible employees also receive an additional day each year for community service or school functions.

Paid Parental Leave:Eligible employees can take 12 weeks of paid leaveimmediately after a birth or adoption to allow needed time together at home with a new child.

Paid Holidays:Eligible employees receive 13 or 14 paid holidays each year including New Year's Eve and Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Presidents' Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, the Fourth of July, Labor Day, Election Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving, Thanksgiving Friday, Christmas Eve and Day.
