Job description
We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior Cloud Architect to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) solutions to support enterprise mission systems and business applications. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure secure, scalable, and high-performing cloud environments, leveraging your deep knowledge of Oracle products and cloud architecture best practices. This role demands technical expertise, strategic thinking, and hands-on experience with Oracle-based systems in high-volume environments. The position requires the ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI eligibility with Poly required.
Requirements
- The ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI eligibility with CI polygraph required.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field
- Minimum 10+ years of experience in building enterprise-scale mission systems, preferably within the federal sector
- Proven hands-on experience with IaaS services including compute, storage, networking, FaaS, identity, and access management. Strong understanding of cloud architecture and best practices for deploying scalable and secure cloud environments
- Knowledge of containerization technologies (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker) in OCI environments
- Familiarity with Cloud platforms such as Oracle, AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Experience with Oracle databases (on-premise and cloud), including provisioning, configuration, backup, and recovery
- Proficiency with Terraform or other infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools for managing OCI resources
- Solid understanding of network protocols, firewalls, VPNs, and cloud security principles
- Ability to monitor and troubleshoot performance issues in OCI environments
- Ability to work with cross-functional teams including data scientists, DBAs, and business analysts
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for documenting and presenting solutions
Desired Skills:
- Knowledge of data security best practices and regulatory compliance
- Experience with DevOps and CI/CD pipelines in a data engineering context
- Oracle certifications (e.g., Oracle Certified Professional or Oracle Big Data certification) are a plus
- Experience supporting Intelligence Community (IC)-related agencies and working with geospatial data types
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation and infrastructure-as-code (IaC)
- Developing and implementing multi-cloud and hybrid-cloud strategies
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and innovative thinking skills
