Director of Software Development

Provide strategic leadership and direction to the software development team, aligning projects with business objectives and user needs. Support team members, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment. Develop and implement a software development roadmap that supports the company's vision and goals. Work with the Technical Project Manager to champion and refine agile methodologies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives, to ensure efficient and effective project execution. Utilize Project Management Software for managing and tracking project progress, ensuring transparency and accountability. Work with the Technical Project Manager to project timelines, deliverables, and resource allocation to ensure projects are completed on time and within scope. Lead the design, development, and deployment of scalable software solutions for our streaming platform. Ensure that software engineering practices adhere to high standards of quality, performance, and security. Manage the integration of offshore development resources, ensuring effective coordination and communication between onshore and offshore teams. Oversee the integration and utilization of Amazon Web Services(AWS) for cloud infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and cost-efficiency. Drive continuous improvement in software development practices, embracing new technologies and methodologies to enhance platform capabilities. Work closely with the Product Team and Content Team, and other stakeholders to define product requirements and translate them into actionable development tasks. Gather and prioritize feedback from stakeholders to ensure alignment with business needs and user expectations.

This position requires a Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Information Technology, or closely related field, plus 8 years of work experience in the job offered, or closely related occupation., 1. Software Development Leadership: 8-10 years of software development experience, with 3-5 years in a leadership capacity.

2. Cloud Expertise: Proven expertise in Amazon Web Services (AWS) and cloud-based infrastructure.
3. Security Frameworks: Strong knowledge of security frameworks, including Okta, OAuth 2.0, and SAML.
4. Software Engineering Principles: Deep understanding of software architecture, design, and development.
5. Programming Proficiency: Minimum 6 years of hands-on experience with JavaScript, Python, and React.
6. Cloud Certification: Relevant certification demonstrating expertise in cloud infrastructure management.
