Job description

Insight Global is seeking a Junior Software Engineer to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract. This role supports mission-critical testing and simulation systems and offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment supporting national defense initiatives., * Configure, operate, and support a wide range of test stimulus and monitoring tools

  • Work with a large Linux-based simulation system as well as tactical message injection and monitoring systems across Windows and UNIX environments

  • Develop and maintain software libraries and tools to support message recording, playback, and data manipulation

  • Assist with troubleshooting, testing, and event support as required by customer needs

Requirements

Active DoD Secret Security Clearance

  • Must have, or obtain within 90 days of start date, a current CompTIA Security + certification

  • 6+ years of general (full-time) work experience

  • May be reduced with completion of advanced education
  • 2+ years of directly related experience

  • Experience programming in Java and scripting in the Windows and Linux environment.

  • Troubleshooting code and script, workstation and server configurations experience - Ballistic missile defense operations and interconnectivity, theater, midcourse, and terminal missile defense, and war gaming laboratories and interfaces experience

  • Posses knowledge of strategic and theater missile defense weapon systems, sensor systems, tactical communications, and C2BMC Environments.

  • IP networking concepts and troubleshooting experience

  • Be familiar with tactical message formats.

  • Have knowledge of DoD communications systems, and networks/protocols.

  • Test planning and test conduct within laboratory environment.

  • Ability to quickly adapt to new situations and short deadlines

  • Strong commitment to collaboration and working in a team environment

  • Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision

  • Willingness and eagerness to learn new technologies

Benefits & conditions

This is a contract to hire position, onsite full-time in Colorado Springs, CO the salary range for this role is between $35-43/hr depending on years and level of experience, education, and certifications. This role requires an Active Secret Clearance. Primary hours will be between 0800-1600, Monday - Friday as scheduled, but shift work including night, weekend and extended hours may be required as dictated by a team rotating schedule to support customer requirements, troubleshooting, testing, and event support.
