Software Engineer - Scala (all genders)

• Thinking about the customer first and helping make holidays better as part of the travel technology team working on the core of our platform
• Maintaining, testing, and deploying microservices, and taking ownership over time
• Designing solid, scalable architectures while balancing performance considerations with a pragmatic problem-solving approach
• Driving our AI-first mindset forward, while recognizing challenges related to security, testing, compliance, and cost control - and addressing them collaboratively within the team
• Partnering closely with developers, Product Managers, and the Platform team, while staying curious, asking questions, learning from others, and sharing knowledge

• At least 4 years of professional experience in developing backend systems and services in distributed environments, ideally using microservices
• Experience with and enthusiasm for Agentic Coding, along with an interest in evolving toward a solution architect/orchestrator role rather than focusing solely on hands-on coding
• A results-oriented mindset, paired with creativity and a proactive attitude when navigating limitations and ambiguity
• Proficiency in Scala or modern Java (with an interest in learning Scala), as well as familiarity with SQL and NoSQL databases
• Appreciation for giving and receiving honest, constructive feedback
• A genuine passion for the work you do
