Job description
- Collaborate with TRC's team of project managers and engineers to provide broad-based engineering design and consulting services for our clients, including preparing design packages, managing budgets and schedules, and mentoring junior-level staff.
- Support solid waste and landfill engineering projects including landfill design, operation and maintenance, landfill permitting, leachate collection system design, landfill capacity analysis calculations, cell development and waste placement plans, cost estimates, and other operational support.
- Design stormwater management systems adapted for specific development sectors in accordance with applicable local, state, or federal regulations and conduct hydrologic analyses to support the planning, development, and permitting of these systems.
- Develop and implement plans, designs, and specifications to assist clients in complying with applicable environmental regulations and in addressing their permitting challenges.
- Prepare compliance and control plans, including construction and industrial Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPPs), Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure (SPCC) Plans, and Soil Management Plans; and
- Work with internal business development professionals and senior managers to establish and grow a sustainable client base.
Requirements
- Minimum 8 years of proven engineering experience including relevant experience with design, permitting, and construction of landfill and solid waste projects.
- Bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering from an accredited university.
- Current Connecticut Professional Engineer license (or ability to obtain licensure within 12 months).
- Experience independently analyzing and interpreting data, site constraints, uses, and characteristics to develop design solutions.
- A fundamental knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D, or similar, to competently work with junior-level engineers using this software.
- A strong understanding of local, state, and federal permitting.
- Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
- A valid Connecticut driver's license.
- Ability to travel (typically 10 to 15%) throughout the US, primarily in New England; and

Compensation: In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.
Other Compensation:Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company's annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.
