Location: Hybrid schedule (2-3 days onsite weekly) with a collaborative, delivery-focused engineering team.
We are seeking a hands-on AWS File Transfer Engineer to design and support secure, scalable file-based integrations in a cloud-first environment. This role is best suited for someone who can quickly contribute in production and thrives in fast-moving, highly governed environments.
Overview of the Role
This position combines engineering and operational responsibilities, supporting the full lifecycle of file transfer solutions-from design and deployment to monitoring and ongoing support. You will collaborate closely with engineering teams and business stakeholders to deliver reliable, secure integrations., * Design, build, and maintain file transfer workflows using AWS Transfer Family (SFTP, FTPS, FTP)
- Develop AWS Lambda (Python) functions to automate file processing and integration workflows
- Configure and manage AWS services including EC2, IAM, Security Groups, Load Balancers, and Route53
- Deliver infrastructure using Terraform and GitLab CI/CD pipelines
- Implement and support high-availability and fault-tolerant solutions
- Contribute to and promote integration standards, architecture patterns, and best practices
- Build and maintain monitoring and alerting using CloudWatch, Grafana, or similar tools
- Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement improvements
- Support deployments, participate in on-call rotation, and maintain system stability
- Document solutions, operational runbooks, and technical patterns
- Work with enterprise file transfer platforms (e.g., IBM Sterling, Axway, Connect:Direct) in cloud or hybrid environments
Requirements
- 2+ years in software engineering, systems integration, or similar
- Hands-on experience with:
- AWS core services (EC2, IAM, networking components)
- AWS Transfer Family + Lambda (Python) + SNS
- Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and CI/CD pipelines
- Enterprise file transfer platforms (Sterling, Axway, Connect:Direct, or similar)
- Knowledge of secure communication protocols (TLS/SSL, SSH, OAuth)
- Experience building or supporting high-availability systems
- Familiarity with monitoring and ITSM tools
- Strong communication, troubleshooting, and collaboration skills
- Ability to support production environments and on-call rotations
- U.S. work authorization required
Preferred
- Experience in regulated or compliance-driven environments
- Exposure to hybrid (cloud + on-prem) integration architectures
- Performance monitoring tools (e.g., Dynatrace)
- AWS certifications
