Job description

DeNOVO Solutions is seeking a Mid-Level DevOps Engineer to support the design, deployment, automation, and sustainment of secure cloud infrastructure supporting mission-critical government operations. This role is ideal for an experienced DevOps professional with expertise in Kubernetes, cloud platforms, automation, and infrastructure-as-code who thrives in customer-facing environments. You'll work directly with government stakeholders to implement scalable cloud solutions, automate operational workflows, and modernize enterprise infrastructure while ensuring compliance with rigorous security standards.

A Day in the Life:

Cloud & Kubernetes Engineering: Deploy, configure, and maintain Kubernetes clusters supporting enterprise applications and cloud-native workloads. Support containerized environments while ensuring high availability, scalability, and operational reliability.

Infrastructure Automation: Develop Infrastructure-as-Code solutions utilizing Terraform, automate Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) image creation using Packer, and integrate automated build processes into GitLab CI/CD pipelines.

CI/CD & DevOps: Design, implement, and maintain automated deployment pipelines supporting continuous integration and continuous delivery. Utilize GitLab and modern DevOps practices to streamline software delivery.

Configuration Management: Manage enterprise infrastructure using Ansible while supporting multiple development, testing, and production environments across government networks.

Security & Compliance: Implement STIG hardening, remediate compliance findings identified through Tenable, and ensure infrastructure meets DoD and Intelligence Community security requirements.

Infrastructure Operations: Maintain critical infrastructure including Kubernetes clusters, virtual machines, Active Directory services, and OpenID Connect (OIDC) providers while supporting enterprise cloud operations.

Customer Engagement: Work directly with government customers to identify application integration requirements, provide technical recommendations, communicate implementation strategies, and enhance existing enterprise applications and infrastructure.

Containerization & Orchestration: Kubernetes, Docker, Helm

Infrastructure as Code & Automation: Terraform, Ansible, Packer

CI/CD & DevOps: GitLab CI/CD, automation pipelines, Infrastructure-as-Code

Operating Systems: Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), Windows Active Directory

Security & Compliance: STIG Hardening, Tenable, DoD compliance, security remediation

Configuration & Identity Management: Active Directory, OpenID Connect (OIDC)

Infrastructure: Virtual Machines, EC2, enterprise cloud infrastructure

Development Practices: Git, cloud automation, multi-environment deployments (DEV, TEST, PROD)

Customer Engagement: Government customer interaction, technical implementation planning, application integration, technical consultation

Requirements

Experience: Experience with containerization and DevOps engineering. Experience implementing cloud technologies including Microsoft Azure. Experience with automation and CI/CD tools. Experience supporting Kubernetes clusters and architecture. Experience with Windows Active Directory. Experience working directly with government customers in client-facing environments.

Education: Bachelor's degree in a STEM-related field.

Certifications: None required.

Clearance: TS/SCI with CI Polygraph.

Benefits & conditions

Salary Range: $150,000.00 - $200,000.00 (Commensurate with experience)

Note: The above salary range is a guideline and represents a broad spectrum of potential compensation. We recognize that a candidate's unique experience and qualifications may justify compensation beyond this range. Therefore, we remain open to considering higher salary offers for exceptionally qualified candidates.
