Requirements

Role OverviewThe organisation is seeking a motivated and experienced IT Technician to provide hands-on technical support across a portfolio of clients in Swindon, with one visit to Chippenham approximately once a fortnight. This is a field-based role requiring someone who is comfortable working independently across multiple sites, engaging confidently with staff, and managing a varied and dynamic workload. The role is ideal for someone with 2 to 3 years of IT support experience who is looking to build their career in a public-sector environment. Key ResponsibilitiesProvide on-site IT support for staff across multiple sitesInstall, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot hardware, software, and network systemsSupport staff with day-to-day technical issues and promote IT best practicesEnsure compliance with safeguarding, data protection, and security standardsMaintain accurate records of IT issues, resolutions, and equipment inventoryTravel between sites as required, managing your own schedule effectively Essential Skills & Experience2 to 3 years of experience in an IT support roleStrong working knowledge of Windows operating systems, Office 365, and common hardwareSolid understanding of network fundamentals and troubleshootingExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to support both technical and non-technical usersFull UK driving licence and access to own vehicle (essential)Enhanced DBS check, or willingness to obtain one prior to startingExperience in a public sector setting (desirable) Desirable SkillsExperience supporting multi-site environmentsKnowledge of safeguarding and data protection Benefits25 days annual leave plus bank holidaysMileage allowance for travel between sitesTraining and professional development opportunitiesExposure to a wide range of technologies across multiple environments
