Job description
To collaborate with a diverse team of analysts and end users to design and build EDW artifacts, such as reports and dashboards, using PowerInsight Enterprise Data Warehouse and SAP Business Objects. To perform both analyst and developer responsibilities as needed. To perform highly complex analysis and design across multiple database platforms and technologies. May need to instruct and guide those with less experience. To conduct research into new data warehouse applications and determine viability for adoption. To identify, describe and define BI problems and requirements from across the organization.
Job Specific Duties
- Lead and contribute to all phases of the business intelligence development lifecycle, including understanding business objectives, gathering and translating business requirements into data requirements, designing and developing data extracts, reports, dashboards, and analytics solutions, deploying and scheduling BI assets in accordance with established best practices, and producing clear, accurate, and timely technical documentation.
- Partner closely with clinical, operational, and technical stakeholders to understand source systems, data meaning, and data usage; perform data analysis and validation; and provide guidance and support related to data integration, interpretation, and downstream consumption.
- Serve as a senior technical contributor within an Epic-centric analytics environment, supporting enterprise reporting and analytics needs using Epic Cogito tools and data models.
- When required, design and develop analytics solutions using non-Epic platforms and tools, including Microsoft Fabric and Power BI, applying the same BI lifecycle principles and quality standards used in Epic-based development.
- Contribute to BI standards, best practices, and technical decision-making; support knowledge sharing and mentoring of less-experienced developers as appropriate for a senior-level role.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or a related field and 10 years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement., * Strong SQL development skills, including the creation, maintenance, and optimization of complex queries and stored procedures. Demonstrated ability to write efficient, scalable SQL and identify opportunities for performance improvement. Experience with SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) required; experience with Microsoft Fabric and Power BI preferred.
- Epic Cogito Proficiency:
- Advanced experience with Epic's Cogito platform is required. Candidate must hold a Cogito Fundamentals certification. Additional certifications or demonstrated experience with Cogito Tools Administration, Clarity Data Model, Caboodle Data Model, Revenue and/or Access data domains are preferred. Familiarity with SlicerDicer, Cogito SQL, Epic security concepts, and Nova Notes is desirable.
- Healthcare Data Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of healthcare clinical and operational data, common healthcare workflows, and how data supports operational, analytical, and decision-making needs across an enterprise healthcare environment.
- Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills:
- Proven ability to analyze complex data challenges, identify root causes, design effective solutions, and balance competing technical and business considerations.
- Communication and Collaboration:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Demonstrated interpersonal skills to work productively across teams, departments, and organizational boundaries in a complex enterprise setting.
