*This recruitment is limited to the first 50 qualified external applications received by the Human Resources Department, and will close to the public without notice while still accepting applications from internal employees., Under general supervision, performs routine work for the operation and support of computer hardware, mobile devices, peripherals, AV systems, and software applications; provides customer service and technical advice, training, and assistance to City employees; and performs related duties as assigned., The assessment and selection process for this position will take place on the dates listed above. All candidates who wish to be considered for this position will need to be in Henderson, Nevada and/or available via Microsoft Teams to participate in the testing process at any time on any of the dates listed above.
Selection Process
The selection process will begin with an employment application package screening, with the best-qualified candidates being invited to participate further in the assessment process. This process may include any combination of written, performance, and oral assessments to evaluate job-related education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities. Requirements

Graduation from high school or the equivalent
-
One (1) year of experience in a combination of the following: computer hardware and software support, AV systems support, network resource administration, and customer support services; or six (6) months of experience as an intern within Information Technology (IT) at the City of Henderson and successful completion of required IT on-the-job training program

Note: An equivalent combination of related education, experience, and training may be considered

CompTIA A+ Certification must be obtained within one year of appointment

Must possess and maintain a valid Nevada or "border state" driver's license, as defined by NRS 483
-
Must pass a nationwide fingerprint-based record check, and a wants/warrants check
-
Must obtain and maintain Security Awareness and National Crime Information Center (NCIC)/Nevada Criminal Justice Information System (NCJIS) certification upon hire/transfer and recertify as needed. Must maintain certifications in NCIC/NCJIS as a condition of continued employment.

Desirable: Experience in a corporate or enterprise environment

Desirable: Familiarity with basic IT service management concepts, including incidents, service requests, prioritization and escalation paths, + From date of hire, new employee are credited with a minimum of 18 days* of PTO. After their first anniversary, employees will begin accruing PTO monthly as follows:

Second year through fifth calendar years of service - 17.42 hours per month
