Job description

Schaeffler Motion Technologies, USA LLC seeks a Senior Software Engineer in Auburn Hills, MI responsible for Software Requirements development. Contributes to defining and managing software requirements based on system requirements and domain standard, such as AUTOSAR. Performs embedded software development. Develops and implements embedded software that meets requirements and complies with standards.

Participates in software architectural design, detailed design, integration, and calibration parameter implementation. Coordinates with internal and external stakeholders for embedded software development. Collaborates with internal and external teams, including AUTOSAR basic software stack teams, production teams, including flash programming and end-of-line software functions, verification and validation teams and related functions, and customers to realize final software outcomes. Ensures process compliance by applying defined software development processes, such as ASPICE.

Requirements

Qualified applicants must have a Bachelor's Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, or a foreign equivalent.

Qualified applicants must have two (2) years of experience working as an Embedded Software Engineer, or substantially similar position, working with automotive applications, performing the following duties: 1) Participating in the full-development lifecycle of embedded software systems, including software architectural design, detailed design, integration, and calibration parameter implementation; 2) Developing and implementing embedded software that meets requirements and complies with standards; 3) Coordinating with internal and external stakeholders for embedded software development; 4) Defining and managing software requirements within AUTOSAR framework; 5) Applying processes and standards, including ASPICE, Functional Safety, and MISRA.; 6) Utilizing automotive operating systems, SPI and I2C protocols and AUTOSAR configuration tools, including DaVinci (Vector), ISOLAR A/B (ETAS), and TRESOS (Elektrobit); 7) Conducting software and integration testing; and 8) Using change management resolution management tools, IMS or GitHub.
