Job description
The Applications Engineer will work with customer, marketing and sales for successful sales completion via direct customer support for telecom and datacom products. This includes data collection, creating technical documents, working directly with customer labs, and with a multi-disciplinary team with multiple locations.
The ideal candidate is an inventive problem solver that is capable of working through tough technical challenges and implement viable solutions.
The role will be based at Milpitas, CA.
The key responsibilities of this application engineer comprise:
The primary technical support point of contact for customers
Provide customers with product training of simulation, data sheets, evaluation boards, application notes, etc.
Provide customers with design assistance, system debugging
Review reports, customer data, perform engineering analysis and study customer systems to develop full understanding of the customers' applications and product architecture.
Able to understand customer needs and work with the other company colleagues to develop competitive and creative technical solutions.
Manage multiple projects and follow up on various tasks to ensure timely support and execution.
Ensure clear and accurate external and internal reporting and communication.
Requirements
Strong academic and technical background in electrical engineering. At minimum a BSEE is required, and an MSEE is preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of related electrical design or semiconductor applications engineering.
Able to lead technical discussions and to present technical features and benefits of our products.
Ability to work in a team environment and strong communications skills are essential.
Experience building 100G, 200G and 400G optical transmission setup and testing is required.
Experience with high performance analog applications is required.
Proven track record on test measurements, data analysis and condense results to support Marketing, Sales and Customers is required.
Experience building optical transmission module and associated standards is required.
Background in Design, Product, Evaluation, or Test Engineering in a mixed signal or analog environment is considered beneficial to a successful candidate.
Lab experience including advanced test and measurement instruments such as sampling and AWG, RTO, SA, PNA/VNA, OSA, DCA and BERT.
Benefits & conditions
The Salary Range for this position is $97,000 - $168,000. Actual salary offered to candidate will depend on several factors, including but not limited to, work location, relevant candidates' experience, education, and specific knowledge, skills, and abilities.
