Job description

The Business Intelligence Lead is an individual contributor role embedded into a digital product team. This is not a generalist analytics role but requires someone who has spent their career in product analytics, understands how digital product teams work, and can operate as a peer to senior product managers and designers rather than a support function beneath them. The right candidate has lived inside a product organization, shaped roadmap decisions with data, and knows the difference between reporting on what has happened and explaining why it matters.

Humana has articulated a strategic vision to drive the digital adoption and a digital-first strategy. The Consumer Digital Business Intelligence team provides support by partnering with digital product owners and enterprise partners in understanding not only the digital footprint, but the upstream and downstream impact of digital behavior. We are dedicated to improving the experience of our members through delivering analytics and insights.

The Business Intelligence Lead solves complex business problems and issues using a variety of internal Humana data and tools. The Business Intelligence Lead works closely with product leaders, engineers, and designers to deliver insights related to digital activity, efficiency, emerging trends, process improvement, pilot measurement, and member, provider and associate experience. As a Business Intelligence Lead, you will:

  • Serve as the primary analytics partner to your assigned product team. Attending sprint reviews, PI planning, and discovery sessions as a full participant, not a data supplier

  • Own the measurement plan for your assigned product portfolio. Defining KPIs, funnels, and success metrics before they ship

  • Be the first touchpoint for product leader data needs, responsible for identifying solutions both home-grown and in partnership with other data and analytic teams, including our own data science team.

  • Evaluate the effectiveness of the digital product strategy and recommend adjustments when needed to drive outcomes.

  • Build and maintain product performance dashboards in PowerBI that drive active product decisions

  • Analyze member behavior across the digital experience, funnel drop-off, feature adoption, session depth, and engagement patterns

  • Work with Data Science teams to design and analyze A/B tests and experiments, communicate results clearly without overstating significance

  • Write and maintain SQL and Python to support analysis and automate recurring data pulls

  • Translate complex findings into clear, opinionated recommendations for product mangers and senior leadership

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and 6+ years of experience in product analytics, OR Master's degree and 4+ years of experience in product analytics OR 8+ years of hands-on experience in product analytics without a degree

  • Prior experience embedded within a consumer-facing digital product organization

  • Proven ability to influence product roadmap and prioritization decisions with data

  • Strong SQL, Advanced PowerBI, and basic Python

  • Proven experience with product funnel and behavioral event data

  • A/B testing experience, test design, statistical interpretation and clear stakeholder communication

  • Deep familiarity with the product development lifecycle and where analytics fits in each stage

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in consumer health, digital health, or member-facing health plan applications

  • Advanced degree in a quantitative discipline such as Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering or related field

Travel: While this is a remote position, occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be required.
