Job description
Under general direction of the Chief Information Security Officer, this position leads subordinate Systems Analysts and provides highly specialized and advanced systems support, programming, and analysis for the Municipality of Anchorage s information security program. This position assists in the planning of security functional systems, programs, and services. Provides implementation and maintenance for security functional systems, programs, and services as well. Leads Municipal staff, contracting vendors, and other Municipal entities in ensuring the strategic security direction of the Municipality is followed. Assignments include, but are not limited to, intrusion detection/prevention and remediation, forensics, personnel investigations, enforcement of Municipal-established security policies security audits of new legacy systems and issues surrounding Municipal data from confidentiality-loss. Perform other duties as assigned., Describe your experience securing and investigating incidents within Microsoft 365 and Entra ID environments, including phishing, MFA abuse, conditional access, identity compromise, or privileged account investigations.

Requirements
High school diploma, GED or equivalent and nine (9) years of experience in the field related to the position., Associate's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration or similar discipline and seven (7) years of experience in the field related to the position., Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or similar discipline and five (5) years of experience in the field related to the position., Master's degree in a related field may substitute for the required non-specialized experience on a year-for-year basis., If selected for hire, the appointment in this position will be conditional based upon a satisfactory Municipal Employment Office conducted Background Check. A Background Check encompasses criminal history, verifying education, and verifying dates of employment., Individuals currently serving as a member in good standing in the National Guard or the organized military reserves who wish to be considered for interview preference, as permitted in Municipal Personnel Rules 3.30.031 D, must attach proof of current service to the application. Proof of current service can be shown by submission of a statement of service which, at a minimum, shows the full name, date of birth, Social Security Number, date service began, branch of service, rank, name of command providing the information, and unit of assignment. The statement of service must be on a form or letterhead of the individual's command organization, and shows the name, signature, title, and contact information of the signer providing the statement of service.
