About the role
Join our new Data Centre of Excellence
It's an exciting time to join NFU Mutual as we continue to shape and grow our Data Centre of Excellence (DCoE) to support key strategic programmes and deliver our data strategy. We're focused on making the right data accessible to the right people across the business and on creating a data literate organisation, so our people get the most value from data. It's about harnessing the power of data to improve experiences for our people, our customers and our business. You can play a key role in this journey.
An additional role in Data Governance has recently opened up due to internal promotion.
About the role
As Data Governance Manager, you will be responsible for implementing, embedding and running data governance, controls and assurance across one or more strategic data domains (e.g. Customer, Claims, Finance).
This is a hands-on role, in which you will action the practical delivery, operation and continuous improvement of data governance, controls and assurance across strategic data domains. You will take responsibility for translating NFU Mutual's Data Governance Framework, target control environment and regulatory expectations into operational domain-level governance that is actively embedded, used and maintained.
You will support our team's efforts as we work alongside senior business data owners to deliver analytics and AI ready data for the domains you co-ordinate, providing owners with the tools and insight to assess the maturity of their domain and identify, prioritise and deliver data improvements. This includes establishing clear data ownership and stewardship, ensuring responsibilities are fully understood and discharged.
Acting as the co-ordinator for data governance and control improvements for your domains, you will also support resolution activity working closely with business, change, architecture and delivery teams to assess impact, coordinate corrective action and ensure appropriate controls are fed into systems and processes as required.
You will also help us ensure we achieve our objective of creating a marketplace of easily accessible, ready to use, trusted data products. You'll help manage the delivery of DCoE developed data products, embed standards and support the drive for improved quality, to enable data-driven decisions throughout NFU Mutual.
The Data Governance Manager role gives you the opportunity to continually grow your knowledge as well as influence and shape data management within our Data Centre of Excellence. This is a great opportunity in a highly visible role to not only be part of the change, but to support the change and improvement needed for the future.
This role is know internally as a Data Domain Manager
