Job description
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Cyber Security Analyst to join our growing security team in Chelmsford. This is an exciting opportunity for a cybersecurity professional who is passionate about safeguarding digital assets, identifying emerging threats, and strengthening organisational security.
As a Cyber Security Analyst, you will play a key role in monitoring, detecting, investigating, and responding to security incidents while helping to maintain a robust and secure IT environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor security alerts and events using SIEM and threat detection tools.
- Investigate, analyse, and respond to cybersecurity incidents and vulnerabilities.
- Conduct security assessments, risk analyses, and vulnerability management activities.
- Support incident response and remediation efforts across the organisation.
- Monitor network traffic and system activity to identify potential threats.
- Collaborate with IT and business teams to implement security controls and best practices.
- Assist with compliance initiatives, security audits, and regulatory requirements.
- Develop and maintain security documentation, policies, and procedures.
- Stay informed on emerging cyber threats, attack techniques, and industry trends.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Network security?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, * Bachelor's degree in Cyber Security, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Proven experience in a Cyber Security Analyst, Information Security Analyst, or similar role.
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity frameworks, risk management, and security best practices.
- Experience with SIEM platforms, endpoint security tools, and vulnerability management solutions.
- Knowledge of network security, firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and threat intelligence.
- Familiarity with security incident response processes and forensic investigations.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Industry certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CEH, CISSP, CISM, or CySA+.
- Experience with cloud security environments including AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Knowledge of penetration testing methodologies and security assessment tools.
- Understanding of GDPR, ISO 27001, NIST, or Cyber Essentials frameworks.
- Experience with scripting or automation tools such as Python or PowerShell.

Pay: £55,000.00-£67,000.00 per year
