On behalf of one of our favourite Manchester-based technology clients, BD Talent are keen to speak to Tech Leads and Software Engineering Managers who have a strong background leading software delivery, establishing technical standards and implementing engineering best practice.
We're looking to find someone with this background who would be interested in an opportunity which offers autonomy, ownership, progression, a great team and an ever progressive tech stack.

Reporting directly to the CEO, you'll play a key role in shaping development processes, leading technical teams and ensuring successful delivery across a modern cloud-based technology stack.
It's a hands-on technical leadership role - it is not a pure project management role, and it is not a pure coding role. Where they have access to a nearshore team of Software Engineers and UX/UI Designers, this role will require some aspects of hands-on coding, more so at the beginning of this role until processes are in place., * Lead software development delivery across multiple projects
- Translate business requirements into technical plans and priorities
- Drive code quality, testing, documentation and release standards
- Line manage the Cloud Security Engineer and two Lead Data Engineers from a people, workload, development and coordination perspective
- Coordinate work across internal teams and external delivery partners
- Identify risks, remove blockers and improve delivery processes
- Contribute hands-on to technical work when required
Requirements
Do you have experience in React?, * Previous experience as a Software Development Manager, Engineering Manager or Technical Lead
- Strong technical background in:
- o TypeScript / Node.jso Reacto AWS CDKo AWS Lambda, API Gateway, EventBridge and DynamoDBo GitHub Actionso Monorepo environments
- Experience implementing engineering best practices and development standards
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skillsDesirable
Astro or Cloudflare Workers, Microsoft Fabric or Azure Event Hub, Python, data platforms or CMS integrations and experience within high-transaction, digital environments, Must be UK based, have full working rights and be able to work from the Manchester office 2 days per week - sponsorship is NOT available
