Job description

We are looking for an experienced Scrum Master / Project Manager to join our IT team on a 12-15 month fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave.

This is a dual-role position, combining hands-on project management with leadership of Agile delivery practices across multiple teams. The successful candidate will not only act as Scrum Master-coaching teams, facilitating Agile ceremonies, and driving continuous improvement-but will also take full ownership of delivering a portfolio of projects. The role is based in our Northampton office, although London-based candidates will also be considered. We offer hybrid working, with three days per week in the office and two days from home., * Lead the development and continuous improvement of Agile/Scrum methodologies, frameworks, and processes

  • Facilitate Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives
  • Act as Scrum Master for delivery teams, removing blockers and enabling high performance
  • Coach and mentor Project Teams and Product Owners to enhance Agile maturity and capability
  • Establish and maintain product backlogs and supporting artefacts to track progress and performance
  • Provide clear, timely reporting on Agile delivery performance to stakeholders
  • Assess team and individual Agile maturity and implement improvement plans where needed
  • Manage the delivery of projects using both Agile approaches
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional IT teams including Development, Infrastructure, and Support
  • Engage with stakeholders at all levels to ensure successful delivery and change adoption

Requirements

Do you have experience in Software development?, Essential

  • Scrum Master certification (e.g. Certified Scrum Master®, PMI-ACP, or equivalent)
  • Significant experience working as both a Scrum Master and Project Manager in Agile environments
  • Strong facilitation, communication, and conflict resolution skills
  • Experience with Agile frameworks and delivery practices
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Solid understanding of software development lifecycles and methodologies
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels
  • Proven experience driving continuous improvement in Agile/Scrum processes
  • Full lifecycle experience delivering complex Agile projects
  • Experience delivering business change across multiple stakeholder groups

Desirable

  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics implementations
  • Knowledge of Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, or Power Pages
  • Experience using tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or MS Project
  • Vendor management experience
