Job description

Scalable Display Technologies develops industry-leading software that enables complex multi-projector and immersive display systems around the world. Our technology powers simulation and training environments, themed entertainment attractions, museums, research facilities, live events, visualization centers, and large-scale commercial installations.

As a Technical Solutions Engineer, you will work directly with system integrators, consultants, and end users to deploy, support, and optimize Scalable's auto-calibration, edge blending, and image warping solutions. You will help bring ambitious visual experiences to life-from immersive training simulators and projection domes to large-scale visualization systems featuring hundreds of millions of pixels.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys solving challenging technical problems, working closely with customers, traveling to unique installations, and becoming a trusted technical resource within the ProAV industry. You will collaborate across engineering, sales, product development, and customer organizations while gaining exposure to some of the most innovative display systems in the world.

If you are passionate about technology, customer success, and cutting-edge visual experiences, we would like to hear from you., The Technical Solutions Engineer is responsible for demonstrating, deploying, supporting, and troubleshooting Scalable's software solutions as part of sophisticated visualization and ProAV systems. This role combines technical expertise, customer engagement, field deployment, and problem-solving to ensure successful project implementation and long-term customer satisfaction.

Projects may include simulation and training systems, immersive experiences, themed entertainment attractions, projection domes, museums, command-and-control centers, research visualization facilities, XR environments, and other advanced display applications.

Responsibilities

Customer Support & Technical Solutions

  • Develop deep expertise in Scalable's software products, workflows, and supporting technologies.
  • Serve as a trusted technical advisor to customers, system integrators, consultants, and channel partners.
  • Respond to customer inquiries and support requests via phone, email, and remote access tools.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues involving software, projection systems, graphics hardware, networking, cameras, and calibration systems.
  • Manage customer expectations while maintaining a high standard of professionalism and responsiveness.
  • Guide customers toward successful deployment strategies and best practices.
  • Educate customers to maximize their long-term success and self-sufficiency.

Deployment & Field Engineering

  • Perform remote and onsite installation, configuration, commissioning, calibration, and troubleshooting of Scalable solutions.
  • Travel to customer sites to support deployments, system upgrades, training, and issue resolution.
  • Work with a wide range of display environments, including multi-projector systems, curved screens, domes, immersive environments, simulation systems, and live events.
  • Evaluate system performance and recommend optimizations to achieve project requirements.
  • Document field observations and provide detailed debriefs following customer visits.

Sales & Customer Engagement

  • Demonstrate Scalable's technology to customers, consultants, and partners.
  • Support industry trade shows, conferences, customer demonstrations, and training events.
  • Assist the sales team in evaluating project requirements, technical feasibility, and implementation risks.
  • Participate in solution design discussions and help customers identify the best approach for their application.
  • Gather customer feedback and communicate market needs to engineering and product management teams.

Product Validation & Internal Support

  • Build, maintain, and test display systems used for customer support, demonstrations, product validation, and quality assurance.
  • Validate new software releases and features in representative deployment environments.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of office IT infrastructure and internal technical resources.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, knowledge base articles, deployment guides, and training materials.
  • Assist with customer training programs and onboarding of new employees., This position involves close collaboration with engineering, support, and sales teams. Employees may work from our Cambridge, Massachusetts office or remotely, depending on location and business needs. Standard support hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time. Occasional after-hours support may be required to assist customers during critical deployments, commissioning activities, or live events.

Requirements

  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally with reasonable advance notice.

Preferred

  • Experience supporting customers in a technical, engineering, or solutions-oriented role.
  • Familiarity with ProAV technologies and workflows.
  • Experience with projection systems, display technologies, graphics hardware, or visualization systems.
  • Understanding of networking fundamentals and IP-based AV systems.
  • Experience with Windows operating systems and PC hardware troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with scripting, automation, or software development concepts.
  • Experience with simulation, themed entertainment, immersive experiences, live events, research visualization, or digital signage applications.
  • Familiarity with GPU technologies and graphics-intensive computing environments.
  • Experience with camera-based calibration systems or machine vision technologies.
  • CTS certification preferred; CTS-D or CTS-I certifications are a plus., * delivering technical solutions: 2 years (Preferred)

Travel Requirements Approximately 25%-50% travel, depending on project activity and customer needs. Work Location Scalable Display Technologies is headquartered in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Candidates who are able to work regularly from our office are preferred due to the collaborative and hands-on nature of the role. However, highly qualified remote candidates will also be considered. Remote employees should expect to travel periodically for customer deployments, team meetings, training activities, trade shows, and other business needs.
