Job description
We are looking for a reliable, customer-focused Desktop Support Technician to provide hands-on technical support for end users across the organization. This person will troubleshoot hardware, software, network, account access, and workstation issues while helping employees stay productive.
What You'll Be Doing
As a Desktop Support Technician, you will serve as a frontline technical resource for employees, assisting with day-to-day IT issues, equipment setup, system imaging, user support, and escalation of more complex problems. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving technical problems, working directly with users, and supporting a fast-paced business environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide desktop, laptop, printer, mobile device, and peripheral support for end users both remotely and in person
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, operating system, connectivity, and application-related issues
- Image, configure, deploy, and replace workstations, laptops, and other endpoint devices
- Assist with user account setup, password resets, permissions, and basic Active Directory administration
- Support Microsoft Office, Outlook, Teams, Windows operating systems, VPN, Wi-Fi, printers, and business applications
- Document incidents, service requests, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions in the ticketing system
- Escalate more complex issues to systems, network, security, or application teams as needed
- Assist with onboarding and offboarding employees, including equipment preparation and account access
- Maintain accurate inventory records for IT assets, devices, and assigned equipment
- Support basic network troubleshooting including connectivity, docking stations, VoIP phones, and conference room technology
- Follow IT policies, security standards, and support procedures to ensure consistent service delivery
- Provide professional, patient, and clear communication to users of varying technical skill levels
Requirements
Do you have experience in Windows?, * 3+ year of experience in desktop support, help desk, IT support, or a related technical role
- Experience supporting Windows desktops/laptops and Microsoft Office 365 applications
- Basic understanding of Active Directory, user accounts, permissions, and password resets
- Familiarity with imaging, workstation setup, hardware replacement, and device troubleshooting
- Ability to troubleshoot printers, peripherals, network connectivity, VPN, and common business applications
- Experience using a ticketing system to track and resolve support requests
- Strong customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to prioritize multiple tickets and support requests in a timely manner
- Comfortable providing both remote and hands-on support
Preferred Qualifications
- CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft, or other IT certifications
- Experience with Intune, SCCM, imaging tools, remote support tools, or endpoint management platforms
- Experience supporting mobile devices, VoIP phones, conference room equipment, or business applications
- Basic knowledge of networking concepts such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and Wi-Fi
Schedule / Work Environment
This is a full-time role that may require onsite support, occasional travel between local offices, and participation in after-hours support depending on business needs.
