Job description
As the senior engineer leading Assembly, Test & Launch Operations (ATLO), you will convert designs into flight-ready, constellation-scale spacecraft. You'll orchestrate integration flows, write and approve procedures, lead system-level and environmental testing, and take spacecraft through launch integration-while raising the bar on quality, speed, and safety., Lead end-to-end builds: Own planning and execution from assembly through launch, maintaining technical excellence and delivery targets. Design for manufacturability: Review drawings/schematics early, feed improvements into proposals and design cycles, and optimize for large-scale constellations. Decisive troubleshooting: Partner with technicians, inspectors, and engineers in the cleanroom; resolve non-conformances and enact corrective actions with clear go/no-go calls. System mastery: Integrate, test, and debug development platforms to craft high-quality test and assembly procedures and deepen system knowledge. Authority and ownership: Serve as signature authority on procedures, process plans, and new program initiatives. Test and launch leadership: Run EMI/C, dynamics, and TVAC campaigns; execute launch integration while balancing overarching plans, staffing, and schedules. Continuous improvement: Drive throughput gains, reduce build hours and defects, and streamline complex processes using data-driven methods. Metrics that matter: Apply statistical and analytical tools to monitor team and product execution performance.
Role family/internal code: Systems Engineer. Openings at Levels 3 and 4.
Culture and schedule
We're a hands-on, high-accountability team that balances precision with speed. To meet mission timelines, we operate a rotating shift model:
- Employees may work various shifts on a rotating basis; one shift per day. Shift times can change and additional shifts may be added as needed.
- Each shift is 9.5 hours with a 0.5-hour lunch, aligning to a 9/80 calendar-every other Friday is a non-working day.
- Standard shift times:
- First Shift: 0600 - 1530
- Second Shift: 1430 - 0000
- Current posting indicates 1st shift; flexibility is valued for surge milestones and launch campaigns.
