Job description

What you'll do

  • Prepare comprehensive detail and layout drawings for prototypes and existing products using CATIA/NX and related CAD tools.
  • Release internal/external CAD and drawing packages to support new product launches; sustain production with customer-driven VA/VE initiatives and on-site support for CI events.
  • Lead and contribute to design reviews and surveillance activities; partner with Program Management to ensure PDP gate readiness; track objectives, schedules, and costs.
  • Document everything-drawings, renderings, reports-per customer and company standards; keep a precise record of decisions and program accountabilities.
  • Develop and maintain 3D models, layouts, and assemblies; perform cost studies and tolerance stack-ups; produce layout and assembly drawings.
  • Advise customer design teams and Magna PM on best-in-class parameters when proposals may challenge manufacturability or total cost.
  • Champion continuous improvement, process development, and product cost analysis; research and recommend enhancements.
  • Invent patentable solutions and navigate patent submissions, approvals, and tracking with Magna and the USPTO.
  • Collaborate with Product and Manufacturing Engineering to envision future concepts and advanced systems with strong DfM.
  • Execute Change Requests (CR) and Change Notices (CN) via the Magna Change X tool.
  • Capture best practices and lessons learned to elevate other programs.
  • Support prototype, pre-production, and production build events as needed.
  • Protect intellectual property and contribute to departmental goals as assigned.
  • Develop trusted relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Assist Program Management with product/process development, including prototype tooling and builds.

Your PDP / TraX ownership

You'll operate within Magna's Product Delivery Process (PDP) and the TraX online requirements system, leading these elements: ME-003: Intellectual Property / Patent Searches ME-030: Critical Design Review (CDR) ME-035: CAE (Moldflow, FEA, Warpage Analysis, Other) ME-039: Customer Design Freeze ME-040: Data Release

Do you have experience in Schedule management?, * Education: Bachelor's in Engineering or a Technical field (required)
