Job description
As a Systems Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining complex IT systems and infrastructure solutions for government agencies. Your expertise will contribute to the efficient and secure operation of critical systems that support essential governmental functions., System Design and Architecture:
- Collaborate with government stakeholders to gather requirements and understand system needs.
- Design and architect scalable and reliable IT systems, taking into consideration security, performance, and regulatory compliance.
Implementation and Deployment:
- Configure, install, and deploy hardware and software components of IT systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful integration and interoperability of various system components.
- Monitor and troubleshoot deployment issues, ensuring timely resolution.
Infrastructure Management:
- Manage and maintain servers, networks, storage systems, and other IT infrastructure components.
- Implement and enforce security measures, including firewalls, encryption, and access controls, to protect sensitive government data.
System Maintenance and Upgrades:
- Perform regular system maintenance tasks, including updates, patches, and hardware upgrades.
- Plan and execute system migrations and upgrades to ensure minimal disruption to government operations.
Performance Optimization:
- Monitor system performance and identify bottlenecks or areas for improvement.
- Implement strategies to optimize system performance and ensure efficient resource utilization.
Security and Compliance:
- Ensure systems adhere to relevant security standards, policies, and regulations (e.g., FISMA, NIST).
- Conduct security assessments and vulnerability scans, and implement necessary safeguards.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including system designs, configurations, and operational procedures.
- Generate regular reports on system health, performance, and security status for government stakeholders.
Problem Solving and Troubleshooting:
- Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues related to hardware, software, and network components.
- Provide timely and effective troubleshooting support to government personnel.
Project Management:

Manage project timelines, deliverables, and resources to ensure successful completion of IT projects.

Communicate project updates and status to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Vulnerability scanning implementation?, * Proven experience working as a Systems Engineer or related role, with a focus on designing and managing complex IT systems.
- In-depth knowledge of system architecture, networking, security, and virtualization technologies.
- Familiarity with government IT regulations, such as FISMA, NIST, and FedRAMP.
- Strong proficiency in system administration, scripting, and automation (e.g., PowerShell, Python).
- Experience with cloud technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and hybrid cloud environments.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with government stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CompTIA Security+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect) are a plus.
- U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain security clearances as required by government contracts.

- Agility: Agile and able to work in tight spaces such as server rooms, data centers, or other.
