Job description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Dental Assistant with Expanded Function (RDAEF2) to join our dynamic, busy, dental team. In this role, you will play a vital part in delivering exceptional patient care by assisting the dentist during procedures, managing dental instruments, and ensuring smooth clinic operations. Your expertise in chairside assisting, dental terminology and treatment planning will contribute to creating a comfortable and efficient environment for our patients. This position offers an exciting opportunity to utilize your technical skills while working within a collaborative and supportive team focused on excellence in dental care.

We hope to hire a candidate who is proficient in placing class I, II, III, V restorations, Cad-cam and 3D imaging, dental implant surgery, wisdom teeth extraction, Invisalign and mixed-dentition traditional orthodontics.

Occasionally we work a Friday to accommodate larger cases. We also take off about 6 weeks per year for holiday.

Duties

  • Assist the dentist during various procedures including restorations, extractions, and prosthodontics with precision and confidence.
  • Perform expanded functions such as coronal polishing, applying sealants, placing and finishing restorations, taking final impressions and cementing crowns.
  • Maintain implant and orthodontic inventory.
  • Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly.
  • Take and develop dental X-rays using digital imaging systems, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
  • Manage medical documentation accurately, including updating electronic health records (EHR) while maintaining HIPAA compliance.
  • Monitor vital signs and assess patient comfort throughout procedures to ensure safety and well-being.
  • Educate patients on oral health practices, post-operative care, and treatment plans in a friendly and professional manner.

Requirements

Do you have a valid Registered Dental Assistant license?, Do you have experience in Prosthodontics?, * Proficiency with dental software Open Dental for scheduling, records management.

  • Strong knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality of patient information.
  • Experience with pediatric dentistry procedures and working with pediatric patients preferred.
  • Ability to operate X-ray machines safely and accurately while adhering to infection control protocols.
  • Skilled in chairside assisting techniques including four-handed dentistry for efficiency.
  • Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and medical coding for accurate documentation.
  • Familiarity with advanced tools such as 3D scanners for prosthodontics and implantology.
  • Excellent understanding of infection control practices and aseptic techniques within a dental clinic setting.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages, including pediatrics, ensuring a positive experience.
  • Experience working with dental assisting teams in general dentistry or specialized fields

We are a group practice with four dentists and 10+ hygienists. Each doctor has their own team that they work closely with delivering excellent care. Our practice has been in the area for over 50 years. We treat multiple generations of patients and take great pride in the relationships we maintain and foster with our patients. We are not a DSO office and have no intention of ever selling out to corporate. Although we are busy we are able to deliver quality care to each patient.
