Job description
The Network Operations Center (NOC) Technician is responsible for providing hands-on support within a live data center environment, ensuring the reliability and performance of network and infrastructure systems. This role performs smart hands support, fiber and copper cabling activities, rack and stack deployments, troubleshooting, and ticket resolution while maintaining operational standards and documentation. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, technically skilled, and capable of working independently while supporting critical infrastructure and customer environments., * Monitor network and infrastructure systems and respond to operational requests and incidents.
- Perform smart hands support activities within a live data center environment.
- Install, patch, clean, test, and troubleshoot fiber optic and copper cabling.
- Work with SC and LC fiber connectors and maintain proper fiber color code standards.
- Install and replace fiber jumpers and perform break/fix activities as required.
- Support rack and stack installations of network, server, and customer equipment.
- Run, dress, label, and organize cable infrastructure in accordance with data center standards.
- Troubleshoot Layer 1 connectivity issues and assist with basic network troubleshooting.
- Perform hardware diagnostics and replace failed components as directed.
- Create, update, and manage tickets within the organization's ticketing system.
- Document incidents, maintenance activities, and resolutions accurately and thoroughly.
- Conduct routine infrastructure inspections, audits, and preventative maintenance tasks.
- Follow established safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams, customers, and stakeholders regarding support activities and service requests.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Ticketing system technical support?, Do you have a High school diploma or GED?, * High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a data center, network operations center, or related technical support environment.
- Experience providing smart hands support in a live data center environment.
- Basic knowledge of low-voltage fiber installations, including fiber jumpers, break/fix support, and rack and stack activities.
- Hands-on experience with fiber optic and copper cabling installation, patching, cleaning, testing, and troubleshooting.
- Experience working with SC and LC fiber connectors.
- Understanding of fiber color codes and cable management best practices.
- Experience using ticketing systems to track incidents, requests, and resolutions.
- Familiarity with network monitoring and infrastructure support tools preferred.
- Ability to troubleshoot hardware and connectivity issues in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, work on ladders when required, and remain standing for extended periods.
- Basic hand tools and appropriate safety footwear may be required based on site requirements., * How many years of experience do you have monitoring and supporting data center operations or NOC environments?
- Have you worked with network monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, PRTG, Nagios, Datadog, or similar platforms?
- Do you have experience responding to system alerts, troubleshooting outages, and escalating incidents based on established procedures?
- Have you worked in a data center environment performing tasks such as rack and stack, patching fiber/copper connections, or supporting critical infrastructure?
- Are you open to being on call during weekends and responding to critical support issues as needed?

- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM with a 1-hour lunch break.
- Travel Requirements: None.
- Work is performed in a live data center environment and requires adherence to all site safety and operational procedures.
