Job description
As an IT Sr Manager of Compute at Micron, you will be responsible for owning the on-premise Corporate Windows, Unix and Virtual Infrastructure as well as leading the global Compute technology standards.
You will partner with the IT worldwide counterparts, architects, and program/project managers to build strategic and operational objectives, to ensure adherence to service and operational level agreements. You will serve as a conduit for demand and resource management, balancing people and budgets towards desired outcomes. You are responsible for business and regulatory compliance activities for the services worldwide.
Responsibilities:

Provide day-to-day project oversight, execution, and operational leadership.

Deliver technology vision, strategy, and direction for supported services.

Maintain OLA and SLA agreements with Micron Business Units and ensure alignment.

Sustain strong global collaboration with internal and external Micron IT operations teams.

Partner with Enterprise Architects to develop and carry out capability roadmaps.

Drive service improvements by reviewing contracts, vendor offerings, upgrades, quotes, and cost/benefit analyses.

Lead continuous improvement through policies and processes for monitoring, measurement, reporting, and improving service/component availability.

Lead all aspects of budget and cost centers, manage talent development (mentoring, coaching, succession planning, retention), and support <10% domestic/international travel.
Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.

5 years of leadership experience leading on-premise Enterprise Hardware Compute teams.

Hands-on technical background across Unix, Windows, VMware, and enterprise hardware compute systems.

10 years of experience building and leading geographically distributed teams.

Strong written and verbal communication skills across all organizational levels, with sophisticated knowledge of ITIL subject areas.
Preferred Qualifications:

Experience supporting AI/GPU or high-performance compute environments.

Strong vendor management experience, including ELAs and strategic supplier negotiations.

Excellent executive communication and stakeholder leadership skills

Familiarity with automation, self-service, and event-driven infrastructure operations.
