Job description

American PCS Inc, a growing Managed Service Provider (MSP) based in Council Bluffs, IA, is seeking a skilled and motivated Network Engineer to join our team. This role is responsible for handling escalated support tickets, troubleshooting complex network issues, and designing and implementing network solutions for a diverse client base.

The ideal candidate is experienced in multi-vendor environments, thrives in fast-paced MSP settings, and is passionate about delivering reliable, secure, and scalable network solutions.

Key ResponsibilitiesNetwork Support & Escalations

  • Serve as a Tier 2/3 escalation point for network-related service desk tickets
  • Diagnose and resolve complex networking issues across multiple client environments
  • Perform root cause analysis and document resolutions for recurring issues
  • Collaborate with service desk and engineering teams to ensure timely resolution of incidents

Project Work & Implementation

  • Design, deploy, and maintain network infrastructure solutions for client projects
  • Lead or assist in network upgrades, migrations, and new installations
  • Implement best practices for performance, redundancy, and security
  • Provide technical guidance during project planning and execution

Network Administration & Maintenance

  • Configure and manage firewalls, switches, and wireless networks
  • Perform firmware upgrades, patching, and proactive monitoring
  • Maintain documentation for network diagrams, configurations, and procedures
  • Ensure networks meet client SLAs and security requirements

Technical Environment

Primary technologies include:

  • Firewalls: Fortinet (primary), SonicWall, WatchGuard, Meraki
  • Switching: HPE Aruba (primary), Cisco Meraki
  • Wireless: Fortinet, Meraki
  • Additional Exposure: VPN technologies, VLANs, SD-WAN, network security best practices

Requirements

  • 3+ years of hands-on networking experience (preferably in an MSP or multi-client environment)
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across routing, switching, and firewall technologies
  • Experience with at least one of the following: Fortinet, Aruba, Meraki, SonicWall, WatchGuard
  • Solid understanding of:
  • TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP
  • VLANs, VPNs, NAT
  • Network security concepts
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment

Preferred

  • Experience in MSP or IT services environments
  • Certifications such as:
  • Fortinet NSE
  • Aruba (ACSA/ACSP)
  • Cisco CCNA/CCNP
  • Experience with network monitoring and documentation tools
  • Strong customer-facing communication skills

Pay: $75,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year
