If you want to work on a cutting-edge Air Force program, Serco has a great opportunity for you! As a Senior Level Software Engineer, you will be supporting the Special Programs Division (AFLCMC/WAG) at Tinker AFB, OK.
AFLCMC/WAG develops, tests, and rapidly fields classified USAF aeronautical capabilities. Executing a significant budget, the AFLCMC/WAG conducts studies to identify new capabilities; transitions laboratory technologies to operational platforms; executes demonstrations; and develops, tests, rapidly fields, sustains, and demilitarizes capabilities for the warfighter.
In this role, you will:
- Develop software engineering strategies in support of the acquisition, development, and sustainment of software for weapon systems, subsystems, and/or support equipment
- Assist in translating user requirements into system requirements, which is used to design, develop, test and evaluate software for computer systems, subsystems and equipment
- Conduct assessments of DoD contractor software deliveries for aircraft / test equipment
- Analyze software performance deficiencies and make recommendations for corrective actions
- Audit DoD contractors for software configuration and control measures and verify appropriate quality accreditation
- Using software engineering experience, evaluate Contractor proposed design changes and solutions, perform systems analyses and technological/trade-off study assessments
- Review system design software architecture and interoperability requirements
- Evaluate system test plans for software and participate in the conduct of system, subsystem, and component testing; review and analyze test data; make recommendations
- Support development and review of the full range of program and contract documentation
- Conduct technical evaluations of contractor proposals
- Perform technical risk assessments and develop mitigation plans
Requirements
- An active TOP-SECRET security clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) and access to Special Access Program (SAP) and have a background investigation current within the past 5 years or under Continuous Vetting
- Masters Degree in a relevant engineering discipline with a minimum of 10 years experience in an engineering position with the DoD, other government agency, or DoD contractor
- Or a Bachelor's Degree in a relevant engineering discipline with a minimum of 15 years experience in an engineering position with the DoD, other government agency, or DoD contractor
- Minimum of 3 years of SAP experience within the last 8 years
- Recent "hands-on" software development or analysis
- The ability to travel up to 10% (CONUS)
Additional desired experience and skills:
- In-depth knowledge of software engineering support to include software design, integration, configuration, test/evaluation, and certification
- Current knowledge of software development methodology and tools
- Very experienced with operating systems, software languages (e.g., C++, Java Script, Python), computer hardware platforms, or other applicable computer systems
- Experience in integrating DoD cybersecurity considerations into software architectures Experience in a SAP and/or SCI environment
