Job description

JOB Systems Engineer The Department of Administration's Office of Technology & Information Services (OTIS) is seeking a Systems Engineer to join the team. OTIS oversees the state's federated model for implementing, enhancing, and protecting information technology (IT) resources and the utilization of IT shared services across agencies. In this role you will work as a member of the Data Center Infrastructure team to support enterprise Active Directory environments, identity platforms, artificial intelligence initiatives and automation systems. This role focuses heavily on PowerShell development, AD automation, systems integration, and operational reliability across multiple large domains and enterprise platforms. You will maintain, configure, update and monitor all systems utilizing approved software, conforming to the division standards and policies ensuring all procedures and processes will properly secure data, applications, and communications conforming specifically to the division security standards, policies and procedures. If you are an IT engineer professional with technical expertise and soft skills, this position is for you!This position is onsite in Columbia, SC. Responsibilities of the Systems Engineer I:

  • Assist with the support and administration of Identity and Access management (IAM) to include MS Active Directory infrastructure, Azure Active Directory, integration of division AD users and roles with HR personnel information, password management, and privileged access management.
  • Participate in identity, access, and governance lifecycle management and other IAM related tasks to include auditing of identity and access status.
  • Assist in pursuing automation of processes and tasks. This includes processes related to management of datacenter infrastructure, identity management, and privileged access management as well as other areas within OTIS.
  • Assist with the implementation of AI initiatives to include ChatGPT Enterprise and Copilot.
  • Assist with the administration of server infrastructure to include Windows servers, Linux servers, VMWare hosts, Zerto and Avamar backup replication software.
  • Work under the direction of the Datacenter Infrastructure Manager performing other duties as required., * Develop, maintain, and enhance PowerShell automation across multiple large Active Directory domains.
  • Automate identity management, account lifecycle processes, permissions, and administrative tasks.
  • Support and maintain Quest Active Roles and OneIdentity Password Manager platforms.
  • Use scripting and command-line automation for deployments, upgrades, and operational tasks.
  • Ability to establish positive working relationships with technical staff, customers and others involved in server management.
  • CJIS Certification is a requirement but can be gained after employment.

Requirements

Do you have experience in System development?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, * A bachelor's degree in computer science or related field and experience in computer system development and modification in either an on-premises, cloud-based, or hybrid environment.

  • Relevant experience may substitute for the bachelor's degree on a year-for-year basis.
