Job description

  • Develop and maintain demand and spares forecasts tied to modification schedules, component failure rates, and operational tempo.
  • Establish and manage Deployment Spares Package (DSP) levels to support fleet readiness and modification execution.
  • Identify Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages (DMSMS) and obsolescence risks; develop mitigation strategies in coordination with the JPO, prime contractors, and suppliers.
  • Support planning and execution of last-time buys to mitigate long-term sustainment risk.
  • Optimize warehousing, distribution, and kitting strategies in support of modification events and retrofit activities.
  • Reduce material lead times, queue times, and supply-driven delays impacting maintenance and modernization execution.
  • Track and assess supplier performance metrics including Customer Wait Time (CWT), Awaiting Parts (AWP), and fill rates.
  • Identify systemic supply shortages and performance degraders; escalate issues and recommend contract, sourcing, or process remedies.
  • Develop and maintain supply chain Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) including MICAP hours, backorders, pipeline health, and readiness impacts.
  • Build and maintain readiness impact reports translating supply performance into operational availability outcomes.
  • Establish and manage the USAF DSP baseline; analyze DSP effectiveness and support periodic DSP refresh actions.
  • Coordinate across ACC/A4, JPO logistics teams, DLA, depots, program offices, and operational units to maintain a single authoritative view of supply health.
  • Develop senior leader products including briefings, issue papers, decision memoranda, and execution updates as required.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Supply chain risk management?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, * Bachelor's degree (required)

  • Master's degree (preferred), * 10+ years supporting DoD aviation supply chain management, logistics, or sustainment operations
  • Demonstrated experience working with MAJCOMs, program offices, depots, or equivalent enterprise-level organizations
  • Experience developing spares forecasts, DSPs, and sustainment supply strategies
  • Familiarity with DMSMS management, obsolescence mitigation, and supplier performance analysis
  • Experience coordinating with DLA, prime contractors, and program logistics teams
  • Proven ability to translate supply metrics into readiness and availability impacts

TechnicalAnalytical Skills

  • Strong understanding of aviation supply chain drivers and sustainment logistics execution
  • Ability to forecast demand and assess supply risk across multiple time horizons
  • Experience analyzing MICAP, AWP, CWT, and backorder drivers
  • Strong analytical skills with disciplined execution and attention to detail
  • Ability to translate data into actionable senior leader decision support

SoftwareTools

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Familiarity with supply chain management systems, logistics databases, and readiness reporting platforms
  • Experience with data visualization and KPI dashboard tools preferred

Certifications (Preferred)

  • DAU Life Cycle Logistics
  • DAU Program Management
  • DAU Supply Chain or Product Support certifications

Security Clearance

  • Must be a U.S. citizen with an active Secret clearance (required)
