Job description

Day to Day: Insight Global is looking for a Microsoft System Administrator who can join a team and manage and maintain Windows Server environments, keeping systems patched, updated, and running smoothly. A big part of their day involves automating routine tasks with PowerShell or other scripting tools to streamline operations. They will be tasked with handling disaster recovery planning, backups, and storage administration to ensure data is protected and always available. Additionally, they will deploy and support enterprise applications, manage SSO and identity integrations with Active Directory and cloud services, and work with both Azure and VMware to maintain virtual and cloud infrastructure. This individual will keep up with security by monitoring vulnerabilities, applying best practices, and ensuring compliance with company and industry standards. When issues come up, they will troubleshoot system and performance problems, working with internal teams or vendors as needed, and finally, they will keep documentation up to date and look for ways to improve processes and overall system reliability.

Requirements

Desired Skills and Experience: · Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience). · Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years in a Windows System Administrator role, with at least 3 years in an enterprise IT environment. · 5+ years of experience in Windows system administration, including Windows Server 2016/2019/2022. · Strong automation skills using PowerShell, Ansible, or other scripting languages. · Experience with disaster recovery planning, backup solutions, and high availability configurations. · Hands-on experience with enterprise storage arrays (NetApp, Dell EMC, Pure Storage, etc.). · Proficiency in application deployment and management (SCCM, Intune, or equivalent tools). · Expertise in SSO, Active Directory, Azure AD, and authentication protocols (SAML, OAuth, OpenID). · Strong knowledge of Microsoft Azure services, including computer, networking, security, and automation. · VMware administration experience, including vSphere, ESXi, and vCenter. · Familiarity with ITIL best practices and enterprise IT service management frameworks.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Plusses: · Microsoft certifications (e.g., AZ-104, AZ-500, MS-102, or MCSE). · VMware certifications (VCP, VCAP). · Experience with hybrid cloud solutions. · Familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, or containerization in a Windows environment.
