Reporting to executive leadership, the Director of Technology owns the strategy, security, and day-to-day operation of the company's entire technology environment-cloud platforms, networks, endpoints, business applications, data and analytics, and end-user support. The role serves as the senior technical authority and primary administrator across Microsoft 365, Azure, and Intune, directs a small internal team, and partners with operations, finance, and field leadership to align technology investments with business objectives. A current priority is leading the company's cybersecurity and federal-compliance posture, including CMMC readiness, while modernizing data, governance, and collaboration capabilities., Technology Strategy & Leadership

  • Define and execute the company-wide technology roadmap, aligning infrastructure, security, and application investments with business growth and multi-site operations.

  • Serve as the senior technical decision-maker; advise executive leadership on technology risk, capability gaps, cost optimization, and opportunities for operational improvement.

  • Develop and present executive-facing briefings, proposals, and status reporting on major initiatives, budgets, and compliance posture. IT Operations & End-User Support

  • Direct all IT service delivery and end-user support across four offices and remote/field staff, managing ticket intake, prioritization, and resolution at scale.

  • Own the endpoint lifecycle-procurement, imaging, deployment, and retirement-for Windows and Apple devices via Microsoft Intune and Autopilot and Apple Business Manager/DEP.

  • Establish and maintain support standards, documentation, and escalation paths; act as the final escalation point for complex incidents. Cloud Infrastructure & Systems Administration

  • Serve as Global Administrator across Microsoft 365 E5, Azure, and Microsoft Intune, owning tenant configuration, licensing, identity, and lifecycle management.

  • Administer Microsoft Entra ID, including conditional access, application governance, role-based access control, and B2B/external workforce identity.

  • Manage the multi-site network and security infrastructure, including FortiGate firewalls, SD-WAN, and VLAN segmentation across all offices.

  • Design and maintain Azure cloud services and govern cloud spend through ongoing cost optimization and resource right-sizing.

  • Automate administration and provisioning through PowerShell and scripted workflows. Cybersecurity, Compliance & Governance

  • Lead the company's cybersecurity program, including endpoint protection (Microsoft Defender), identity protection, data loss prevention, and incident response.

  • Drive federal-contract compliance readiness-CMMC, NIST SP 800-171, and DFARS-including architecture, roadmap, and supporting documentation.

  • Build and govern the data classification and protection framework using Microsoft Purview (sensitivity labels, DLP) as the foundation for AI/Copilot governance.

  • Ensure technology and surveillance systems meet regulatory requirements, including NDAA Section 889 compliance for prohibited equipment.

  • Oversee administrative access governance, audit readiness, business continuity, and disaster-recovery planning. Data, Analytics & Business Applications

  • Own the company's data and analytics platform, including Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, and ADLS/dataflow infrastructure.

  • Integrate line-of-business systems-such as Salesforce-with reporting platforms to deliver pipeline, operational, and executive dashboards.

  • Administer and govern Microsoft 365 collaboration and AI tooling, including SharePoint Online and Microsoft Copilot. BIM / VDC Technology Enablement

  • Support the BIM/VDC division's specialized technology needs, including reality-capture/laser-scanning hardware, point-cloud data workflows, and high-performance computing requirements.

  • Partner with preconstruction, estimating, and prefabrication teams to enable technology that supports modular and panelized production (e.g., QR-based labeling and tracking). Vendor, Budget & Asset Management

  • Manage the IT budget, forecasting, and software/hardware licensing across the organization.

  • Evaluate, select, and manage technology vendors and service providers; negotiate contracts and hold vendors to performance and security standards.

  • Maintain a complete IT asset inventory and lifecycle records across all sites. Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the internal IT team, setting priorities, standards, and professional-growth paths.

  • Allocate workload across the team, balancing day-to-day support with project delivery.

  • Foster a service-oriented, security-conscious culture across the IT function and the broader organization.
