We are seeking a proactive and dependable Computer Support Associate I to provide day-to-day operational, desktop, and administrative support for our computing environment in Waterloo, IA. This role delivers essential deskside technical assistance to unit customers, managing hardware deployments, asset tracking, and standard troubleshooting workflows.
The ideal candidate will combine a foundational technical background with strong administrative skills to maintain stable, efficient factory and office computing operations., * Perform onsite deskside support, including computer imaging, hardware configuration, and resolving incoming trouble tickets from ServiceNow queues.
- Manage onsite hardware assets, handle printer maintenance tasks (such as replacing toner and pickup rollers), and assist with computer deployments.
- Act as local "smart hands" support for remote server and network engineering groups, as well as managing conference room technology.
- Track and document IT inventory precisely within Asset Center and process outdated hardware for secure disposal.
- Maintain accurate administrative data logs, process logs, incident reports, shipping orders, and customer information records.
- Utilize localized Knowledge Base (KB) articles to identify, diagnose, and resolve technical issues with pre-established documentation.
- Coordinate routine equipment maintenance, monitor local supply stock, and interact with vendor suppliers to order parts.
- Complete internal corporate safety training to operate an indoor factory utility vehicle (Gator) to safely transport tools, components, and computing hardware across connected factory areas.
- Travel occasionally using a personal vehicle to alternative facilities within a 20-mile local radius to execute technical support tasks.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Safety equipment?, Do you have a High school diploma or GED?, * Solid foundational knowledge of general computing, hardware configurations, and networking concepts.
- High level of proficiency using standard corporate desktop load applications, including Microsoft Office, email, internet, and intranet functions.
- Understanding of basic computer security policies and access concepts.
- Strong documentation skills, a high level of accuracy, and effective email communication capabilities.
- Professional demeanor matching a business casual workspace environment., * Degree in an Information Technology discipline or equivalent professional experience. Minimum of a High School or secondary diploma is required.
- 1 year or more of hands-on IT desktop support experience is preferred; however, recent college graduates with relevant technical training will be highly considered.
- Note: The manager is looking for local candidates who will not require long-distance relocation.
- Note: Visa sponsorship is not available now or in the near future for this position.
Physical Requirements / Special Demands
- Must be comfortable working in a manufacturing plant environment and walking between separate indoor office wings.
- Safety Equipment: Steel-toe metatarsal safety boots are strictly required on the first day of the assignment., * Do you have a degree in an Information Technology discipline or at least 1 year of hands-on IT experience?
- Have you previously managed hardware setups, computer imaging, or technical support tickets out of a queue system like ServiceNow?

- This position is 100% onsite in Waterloo, IA on a 1st shift (7:00 AM - 3:30 PM) and includes a weekend On-Call rotation. Can you reliably fulfill these requirements?
