Job description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Cisco Network Engineer to join our team for a full-time onsite role in the Orlando, FL area. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Cisco Enterprise Switching and Wireless technologies, with strong hands-on experience supporting legacy Cisco wireless infrastructure, performing wireless surveys, and optimizing enterprise network performance.

This role requires a senior-level engineer capable of designing, implementing, troubleshooting, and maintaining complex Cisco network environments while ensuring high availability, security, and optimal wireless coverage., * Design, implement, configure, and support Cisco enterprise switching and wireless infrastructure.

  • Troubleshoot complex Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking issues.
  • Manage and support Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers (WLC), including legacy Cisco 5520 Wireless Controllers.
  • Perform wireless site surveys, predictive designs, validation surveys, and troubleshooting using Ekahau.
  • Optimize wireless coverage, capacity, and roaming performance.
  • Configure and troubleshoot Cisco Catalyst switches, VLANs, STP, EtherChannel, HSRP, OSPF, EIGRP, and other enterprise networking protocols.
  • Analyze network performance and recommend improvements to enhance reliability and scalability.
  • Perform firmware upgrades, patching, and hardware replacements.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, security, and operations teams during network deployments and maintenance.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, network diagrams, and operational procedures.
  • Participate in planned maintenance activities and provide advanced technical support as needed.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience as a Cisco Network Engineer.

  • Strong expertise in Cisco Enterprise Switching.

  • Extensive experience with Cisco Wireless technologies.

  • Hands-on experience supporting Cisco 5520 Wireless LAN Controllers.

  • Strong experience with Ekahau for wireless design, surveys, and troubleshooting.

  • Experience configuring Cisco Catalyst switches.

  • Strong knowledge of:

  • VLANs

  • STP

  • EtherChannel

  • OSPF

  • EIGRP

  • TCP/IP

  • DHCP

  • DNS

  • Routing & Switching

Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.

Strong communication and documentation abilities.

Required Certification

  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Required, * Experience with Cisco Catalyst 9000 Series switches.
  • Experience with Cisco DNA Center.
  • Knowledge of Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE).
  • Experience with enterprise network migrations and upgrades.
  • Experience working in large enterprise environments.
