Job description
- Configure, maintain, and advance Linux and Unix operating systems and installs/loads operating system software, troubleshoot, maintain integrity of and configure network components, along with implementing operating systems enhancements to improve reliability and performance
- Provide support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of Information Technology (IT) systems
- Provide assistance to users in accessing and using IT systems
- Provide Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) problem identification, diagnosis and resolution of problems
- Provide support to IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for all of the client/server/storage/network devices, mobile devices, etc.
- Provide support for the escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers
- Optimize system operations and resource utilization, and perform system capacity analysis and planning
Requirements
Do you have experience in Bash?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, * Experience with OS install, file system configuration, TCP/IP networking, configuration, operating system and application troubleshooting, BASH scripting, software compilation and install
- Understanding of HPC architecture, knowledge of high-speed networks such as InfiniBand, Slingshot
- Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, Grafana, Prometheus, Nagios, Slurm, git, Salt, Ansible
- Proven troubleshooting skills - each system is slightly different and there's no "one fix" for a particular problem
- Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline
- Minimum five (5) years of demonstratable system administration experience or ten (10) years minimum experience in lieu of degree.
- DoD 8570 IAT II level certification.
