Job description

The Arc Help Desk Representative at the Arc of Tri-Cities is responsible for providing a friendly and professional first point of contact for clients, families, and visitors. The representative will assist clients in navigating services such as transportation, program registration, and special events. This role also involves performing a variety of administrative tasks, assisting clients with their needs, and ensuring a warm and welcoming environment for all visitors., Client and Visitor Interaction:

  • Greet and assist clients, families, and visitors in a friendly, and professional manner.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with clients and their families to ensure satisfaction and continued engagement with the Arc.

Administrative Support:

  • Update events and relevant information on the Arc of Tri-Cities website to ensure accurate, timely communication.
  • Maintain client records on online databases, ensuring all information is current and organized.
  • Make copies of needed material and applications- working with program leads to ensure all relevant information is available at the front desk.

Program and Service Assistance:

  • Assist clients with Dial-A-Ride applications and other transportation needs to ensure seamless access to services.
  • Help clients register for programs and events, including Special Olympics and other community activities.

Lobby and Facility Maintenance:

  • Ensure the lobby and other client-facing areas are clean, organized, and welcoming.

Advocacy and Support:

  • Advocate for parents and provide support as needed by connecting them with relevant services such as Parent to Parent Services, Recreation Services, and Financial Services.
  • Stay well-informed about the Arc's programs and services to effectively assist clients and their families.

Professional Development:

  • Demonstrate a willingness to learn new skills and adapt to changing needs within the organization.
  • Exhibit patience and understanding when working with individuals with disabilities.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Working with individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders?, Do you have a High school diploma or GED?, Required:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Experience working with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to connect and empathize with diverse populations
  • Ability to maintain a clean and organized work environment
  • Friendly, approachable, and patient demeanor
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)

Preferred:

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
  • Knowledge of Supplemental Security Income (SSI) processes and requirements
  • Familiarity with Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA) services

Benefits & conditions

  • The Help Desk Representative will work closely with other staff members across various departments to ensure clients receive the full range of services available at the Arc.
  • Afternoon (12:15 PM to 4:45 PM) Shifts
  • Depending on program needs and events, the position may involve occasional evening or weekend hours.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $19.00 - $20.00 per hour
