Job description
The Senior Design Engineer is responsible for leading and executing New Product Innovation (NPI) / Continuous Improvement projects with the core Engineering Team. Designing parts and systems, generating and executing design validation testing, and leading cross-functional teams to implement new products into production. Working with sales and product development to support customer needs and driving production build efficiencies that deliver material cost profitability., · Support the VP of Engineering through execution of the NPI Stage Gate Process.
· Lead project management through full product lifecycle to include design, develop, prototype testing, manufacturing support, implementation, Agency, and sunset.
· Lead and provide expertise to the Engineering Team on product design, thermal systems and manufacturing recommendations that include sheet metal fabrication, welding and assembly efficiency.
· Execute Engineering Team over-sight with product performance, Customer feedback, and reliability documentation.
· Lead continuous improvement projects for legacy products directing Production on improvement efforts.
· Work with Sales designing systems and components that meet and exceed customer requirements.
- Support Technical Service in correcting issues and answering technical questions.
· Prepare product reports and documentation needed for UL, NSF, and other regulatory standards.
· Assist with capital requirements for tooling, fixtures or other needs.
· Assist with standardization and modular design approaches to reduce complexity for manufacturing.
· Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
· Lead prototype engineer and testing technician for maximized output and all regulatory compliance.
· Other project work as assigned.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Schematic development for electrical drafting?, Do you have a Master's degree?, · Bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical engineering or related field
· 5+ years of engineering experience in manufacturing or product development environments
· Experience in thermal systems, heat transfer, or refrigeration/temperature-controlled systems
· Proficient in SolidWorks and/or any other CAD software.
· Knowledge of sheet metal design, fabrication, and welding processes
· Experience leading teams through driving cost reduction and product optimization initiatives
· Experience leading teams through product development processes from design to testing
· Knowledge of electrical design and schematics
· Experience in food service equipment
· Familiarity with UL, NSF, and food safety compliance standards.
· Background in both heating and cooling systems

Working Conditions: Work is performed largely in office and manufacturing environments. Hours of work will generally be during regular business hours with at least 40 hours a week but may vary according to special projects, deadlines, or other concerns. Ability to lift 40-50 lbs. and a variety of postures (bending, stooping, etc.) when handling product while training or investigating technical issues.
