KDOT does not provide sponsorships for this position., This IT Programmer position is located in Topeka, at the Eisenhower State Office Building, and is within the Office of Application Development. This position provides IT Application Support for KDOT. This work supports the Agency's ability to provide a statewide transportation system that meets the needs of Kansans., * This position is responsible for developing major systems and complex applications for both desktop and web-based environments, adhering to approved system requirements. Programming languages utilized include, but are not limited to, VB.net, .Net Core, Angular 8 and above, C#.net, ASP.net, MVC, HTML5, CSS3, JSON, Javascript, T-SQL, PL/SQL, and other relevant development tools. Additionally, proficiency in system and application testing tools is required for tasks such as performance verification, code debugging, generating adhoc reports, and optimizing database performance.
- The position entails developing major system designs based on comprehensive data flow diagrams, business objectives, system interface data flows, and architectural data designs using the latest application development tools. This involves designing the application to meet all development criteria, testing requirements, conversion specifications, implementation plans, and user interaction needs. Additionally, it requires incorporating current and future hardware configurations into both system and application design specifics.
- Troubleshooting and customer service. This position will assist in troubleshooting and organizing issues to come to an immediate resolution to problems and coordinate for long-term problems in system performance, application performance or database performance. This will require interaction with KDOT and EBIT technical support.
Requirements
Do you have a valid Driver's License license?, Do you have experience in System testing?, * Successful completion of 18 credit hours in computer science coursework
- OR Certification and one year of experience coding, testing, and debugging applications programs
- OR Two years of experience coding, testing, and debugging applications programs.
- Education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency. Transcripts are required for education to be considered.
- Valid Driver's License at time of appointment., * Two years experience with .NET Framework, .Net Core, Visual Studio, front-end development, Rest API's. C#.NET, Angular, HTML, CSS3, Tailwind, JSON, JavaScript, TypeScript, T-SQL, PL/SQL, GIT
- Experience using formal application development methodology developing complex software applications
- Experience using SQL Server and Oracle databases
