Job description
The Sales Manager is responsible for growing our company's contract sheet metal fabrication revenue by developing new customer relationships and expanding existing accounts. This role requires direct experience selling into the data center infrastructure sector and a working understanding of sheet metal manufacturing processes, tolerances, and lead-time dynamics. The Sales Manager partners closely with the COO, estimating, and operations to ensure quoted work is profitable, producible, and aligned with shop capacity.
This position is the primary commercial point of contact for target accounts and owns the full sales cycle from prospecting through purchase order receipt.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

Identify and develop new business opportunities within the data center sector, targeting OEMs, EMS providers, and tier-1 system integrators requiring precision sheet metal enclosures, racks, cable management, and structural assemblies.

Manage and grow an assigned portfolio of accounts, with emphasis on high-margin programs that leverage Lynam's fabrication capabilities including CNC punching, laser cutting, forming, welding, and powder coat finishing.

Qualify customer RFQs and work with the estimating team to develop competitive proposals; review quotes for margin, risk, and capacity fit before submission.

Maintain an active pipeline in CRM with accurate stage progression, close probability, and expected revenue; report on pipeline status and forecast to leadership on a weekly basis.

Develop and execute a territory plan for the Southern California and Western U.S. market, with a focus on expanding into the Phoenix/Mesa data center corridor and other high-growth markets.

Represent Lynam at industry trade shows, customer site visits, and supplier days; build relationships with procurement, engineering, and supply chain decision-makers.

Communicate customer requirements - including print package specifications, material certifications, quality standards, and delivery expectations - clearly to internal teams.

Monitor competitor positioning, market pricing trends, and changes in customer sourcing strategy; provide market intelligence to leadership.

Collaborate with operations to align customer delivery commitments with shop capacity and scheduling constraints; escalate conflicts proactively.

Support the development of account-specific pricing strategies, including annual agreements and volume-based structures.

Participate in new customer onboarding, including first article review and production kickoff coordination.

Meet or exceed quarterly and annual revenue and gross margin targets as set by leadership.
Requirements
Do you have a valid Driver's License license?, Do you have experience in Sheet metal fabrication?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, 1. 5+ years of B2B sales experience in contract manufacturing, sheet metal fabrication, or precision metal components.

Demonstrated track record selling to or within the data center industry - including rack and enclosure OEMs, hyperscale supply chains, or data center construction contractors.

Working knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes: laser cutting, CNC punching, forming, welding, hardware insertion, and finishing.

Ability to read and interpret 2D engineering drawings and GD&T callouts at a basic level; comfort discussing design for manufacturability with customer engineering teams.

Proficiency with CRM tools (Salesforce, HubSpot, or equivalent); disciplined pipeline management habits.

Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to present to procurement directors and VP-level supply chain contacts.

Self-directed; capable of managing a territory independently without daily oversight.

Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering Technology, or equivalent field experience accepted in lieu of degree.

Valid driver's license and ability to travel within assigned territory up to 40% of the time.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Existing relationships with data center OEMs such as nVent, Legrand, Schneider Electric, Vertiv, or Amphenol.

Familiarity with DFARS specialty metals compliance, Buy American Act requirements, or federal supply chain documentation.

Experience selling USMCA-compliant manufactured goods or working with cross-border supply chains involving Mexico operations.

Prior experience in a job-shop or make-to-order manufacturing environment where quoting accuracy directly impacts margin.
