Job description

You'll act as a subject matter expert for Azure infrastructure, ensuring our platforms are secure, scalable, and highly available. Working collaboratively across IT teams, you'll help deliver reliable services that underpin critical care operations., ️ Cloud & Infrastructure Engineering

  • Design, deploy, and manage Azure services (IaaS & PaaS)
  • Ensure high availability, scalability, and resilience across platforms
  • Implement governance, security controls, and cost optimisation strategies

️ Infrastructure as Code & DevOps

  • Build and maintain IaC solutions (Terraform, Bicep, or similar)
  • Develop CI/CD pipelines to support infrastructure and application delivery
  • Drive a "shift-left" approach to automation and repeatable deployments

Security, Monitoring & Reliability

  • Implement and maintain security best practices and compliance controls
  • Monitor performance using Azure Monitor and Log Analytics
  • Support Cyber Essentials Plus compliance

Identity & Hybrid Services

  • Manage Azure AD, SSO, and hybrid identity (Azure AD Connect)
  • Support transition to cloud-native identity solutions

Backup, DR & Business Continuity

  • Design and test backup and disaster recovery solutions
  • Ensure systems are resilient and recoverable

Incident & Problem Management

  • Act as an escalation point for complex infrastructure issues
  • Lead root cause analysis and deliver long-term fixes

Requirements

Essential Experience

  • 5+ years in Cloud / Infrastructure / Systems Engineering
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Azure (IaaS & PaaS)
  • Hands-on experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, Bicep, etc.)
  • Experience building CI/CD pipelines
  • Strong understanding of networking, servers, storage, and virtualisation
  • Experience managing security, compliance, and monitoring
  • Scripting/automation skills (PowerShell, Python, etc.)

Desirable

  • Azure certifications (Administrator, Architect)
  • Terraform certification
  • Experience with containers and container platforms
  • Knowledge of Azure Application Gateway / WAF / Load Balancers
  • Exposure to data platforms (Synapse, Data Factory, SQL MI), * Strong problem-solver with the ability to manage complex environments
  • Confident communicator with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Collaborative team player across multiple IT disciplines
  • Passionate about continuous improvement and emerging technologies
