Job description

SUMMARY: The Data and Compliance Officer will oversee the district and state assessment processes, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and tribal regulations while providing relevant data to support district needs. This role includes responsibilities for data management, analysis, reporting, and supporting district compliance with educational standards and regulations. The Officer will also manage and distribute Text, Materials, and Curriculum (TMC) across the district.

ABOUT CHIEF LESCHI SCHOOLS: Formerly known as the Puyallup Tribal School, Chief Leschi Schools was founded in 1976 to address the high dropout rate of the youth of the Puyallup tribe. It is the largest of seven tribal schools in the state of Washington and one of approximately 200+ tribal schools in the United States. It is also one of the largest tribal schools to be funded by the Bureau of Indian Education., Compliance

  • Ensure school district adherence to federal, state, and tribal regulations for data reporting and student assessments.
  • Regularly review policies and coordinate with regulatory bodies for compliance updates.
  • Assist in the development of compliance guidelines and training materials for staff.

Assessment Coordination

  • Support district assessment programs in alignment with state and federal requirements.
  • Order, distribute, and oversee secure management of assessment materials.
  • Coordinate testing accommodations for students in Special Education and English Language Learners.
  • Conduct and analyze statistical assessment data to meet compliance standards.
  • Train school personnel on assessment requirements and distribute assessment resources.

Data Management and Literacy

  • Demonstrate advanced proficiency with data tools like Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables & Slicers) and other relevant data analysis software.
  • Collect, organize, and analyze student and district data, including demographics, assessment results, attendance, and disciplinary records.
  • Support stakeholders by facilitating data-driven decision-making, including data visualization and terminology.
  • Prepare data presentations and professional development content, such as charts, graphics, and flow diagrams for diverse audiences.

Text, Materials, and Curriculum (TMC) Oversight

  • Manage inventory and distribution of instructional materials district-wide.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure effective curriculum distribution based on data insights.
  • Maintain excellent customer service standards when receiving orders and delivering materials.
  • Prepare purchase orders and oversee supply requisitions in coordination with school departments.

Requirements

Three (3) years of training and/or experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties as described or three (3) years related successful experience in an educational office level

Experience and mastery of the following programs including but not limited to: Microsoft Excel, OneNote, Publisher, Adobe, Power BI, Learning Management Systems, Destiny Data System, WIDA, WACAS, TIDES, AIRAST, ARMS, EDS/iGrants, Tableau, Social Media Administrative sites, PowerSchool, SchoolPace, STAR, Nativestar/Indistar, WAKids, NASIS or other SIS, AVID CCI, College Board SAT/PSAT

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge of traditional Native American cultures and values

Experience with systems change

Experience with implementation of professional learning communities and data driven instruction

CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT:
