The Supplier Quality Assurance Lead Technician ensures that purchased and in-process components meet Isuzu's quality standards from prototype through mass production. This position supports supplier quality engineering (SQE) and quality control (QC) operations by leading inspection activities, coordinating containment efforts, and verifying corrective actions., Working under the direction of the QC Supervisor and QC Manager, this role combines technical expertise and leadership influence to guide QC team performance and ensure product conformity. The Technical Lead provides day-to-day direction, mentors QC technicians, performs inspections, and leads structured problem-solving using methods such as 8D, 5 Whys, PDCA, and Kaizen. This position is instrumental in supporting continuous improvement and maintaining compliance with ISO/IATF standards., * Leads and coordinates QC team activities to ensure safety, quality, and adherence to inspection procedures.
- Provides direction and guidance to QC personnel in daily tasks, prioritization, and problem resolution.
- Conducts and oversees inspections of incoming, in-process, and finished vehicle components to verify compliance with drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
- Coordinates containment, sorting, and rework activities for non-conforming materials.
- Leads structured root-cause analysis and validate corrective and preventive actions.
- Collaborates with Supplier Quality Engineering (SQE), Engineering, and Production teams to address supplier and line-level concerns.
- Supports supplier audits, PPAP reviews, PTRs, and new model launches to confirm process readiness and product quality.
- Collects, analyzes, and reports quality performance metrics (PPM, torque, defect trends, build results).
- Maintains accurate documentation of inspections, defects, and corrective actions to ensure audit readiness.
- Provides training and shares technical knowledge related to inspection methods, defects identification, and rework procedures.
- Promotes safety and compliance within all QC activities.
- Supports investigations of customer complaints and field quality issues related to supplied components.
- Collaborates cross-functionally to maintain smooth workflow and alignment with quality objectives.
- Performs other duties as assigned to support departmental and plant goals.

Requirements
Do you have a valid Driver's License license?, Do you have experience in Technical skills instruction?, Do you have a High school diploma or GED?, * High school diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in automotive manufacturing or quality control.
- Strong understanding of supplier quality engineering and manufacturing inspection processes.
- Proficiency interpreting engineering drawings and GD&T.
- Experience in using APQP, PPAP, MSA, SPC, and related quality tools.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 compliance requirements.
- Proven experience preparing defect reports, inspection summaries, and corrective documentation.
- Demonstrated leadership ability to lead and coordinate QC activities and influence team performance.
- Skilled in structured problem-solving methodologies (8D, 5 Whys, PDCA, Kaizen).
- Ability to coordinate supplier containment and corrective actions effectively.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills; ability to prioritize and balance multiple responsibilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Ability to train and mentor team members in inspection and repair procedures.
- Valid driver's license and ability to operate commercial vehicles as required.
- Knowledge of workplace safety and environmental standards in manufacturing.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally to suppliers as needed.
- Knowledge of calibration processes and measurement system capability (MSA), including Gage R&R, traceability, calibration records, and out-of-tolerance handling.
