Job description

The Network Engineer III will be responsible for the design, implementation, administration, maintenance, and support of the enterprise network infrastructure. This role involves providing advanced technical expertise in network engineering, security, system administration, and operational support while ensuring high availability, reliability, and performance across critical business systems.

Network Engineer III - Responsibilities:

  • Monitor network performance, system availability, and overall infrastructure reliability.
  • Design, configure, install, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPNs, wireless networks, and Quality of Service (QoS) technologies.
  • Perform advanced network maintenance, software upgrades, firmware updates, security patching, and system enhancements.
  • Monitor system utilization, analyze performance trends, and perform capacity planning to support future growth.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain network security policies, standards, and best practices.
  • Conduct security risk assessments and provide technical guidance on cybersecurity initiatives.
  • Provide Tier III technical support and resolve complex networking and infrastructure issues.
  • Serve as the primary technical liaison with vendors, service providers, and internal IT teams to support infrastructure initiatives and issue resolution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or a related technical discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting enterprise network infrastructure.
  • Strong knowledge of networking protocols, including IPSEC, HSRP, BGP, OSPF, 802.11, and QoS.
  • Solid understanding of the OSI and TCP/IP networking models.
  • Hands-on experience with network monitoring, diagnostics, analytics, and performance management tools.
  • Experience supporting cloud-based networking environments.
  • Proven experience with Cisco ACI and Cisco Nexus Data Center technologies., * Experience supporting infrastructure within industrial, utility, manufacturing, or other critical operations environments.
  • Professional networking certifications such as CCNP, CCDP, F5-CTS, VMware VCP, or VMware VCAP.
