Job description
As our Systems Administrator, you'll keep technology running across all of Palm Construction's markets - from setting up new hires to maintaining our servers, network, security, and phone systems. You'll be the company's main point of contact for IT support and infrastructure, keeping our teams productive and our systems reliable as we grow.
What You'll Own
· Endpoint management - Set up and image workstations for new hires, keep all machines current on software and hardware updates, repair or replace hardware, and troubleshoot day-to-day technical issues across all markets.
· Identity and access - Create email accounts, passwords, and credentials for new hires; manage permissions and MFA; and revoke access promptly when someone leaves.
· QuickBooks support - Administer and troubleshoot QuickBooks for the finance team, including user setup, permissions, and software updates as well as the ability to successfully collaborate with QuickBooks customer support.
· Servers and infrastructure - Maintain our on-premise and cloud servers, run and verify backups, and own disaster recovery so the business keeps operating if something fails.
· Network and security - Own the firewall, endpoint protection, patching, and overall data management and security.
· Telephony - Manage the landline phone system and the call-recording setup sales relies on, including retention and the multi-state legal requirements that come with recorded calls.
· Mobile device management - Provision and manage company cellphones, including data transfers, backups, and setup.
· Asset and license management - Maintain a complete inventory of devices and software licenses across all markets through their full lifecycle.
· Vendor management - Own the relationships with the ISP, phone vendor, hardware suppliers, and any retained specialists.
· New-location setup - Stand up IT (network, stations, phones, accounts) for new offices as the company expands.
· Help desk and documentation - Run a simple intake/ticketing process with clear response expectations, and keep runbooks and documentation current.
· Security cameras - Set up, monitor, and maintain the camera systems across all locations, and make sure they're operating properly.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Vendor relationship building?, · 5+ years as the sole or lead IT person for a multi-site small or mid-size business.
· Experience standing up IT for a new office or location
· Hands-on ownership of servers, backups, firewall, and network security - not just help desk.
· Administration of Microsoft 365.
· Mobile device management (MDM) experience.
· Comfort with telephony / VoIP and call-recording systems.
· Strong documentation habits and the discipline to run an IT function independently.
· Willingness to travel occasionally to other markets.
· Availability outside business hours - able to respond to urgent issues in the evenings and on weekends when needed.
