Job description
- Driving the delivery of system test activities to meet agreed time, cost, quality and performance requirements on complex, multidisciplinary projects.
- Creating clear and effective test procedures, cases and scripts aligned to the overall test strategy for system integration testing.
- Planning, coordinating and managing test tasks to ensure testing is executed efficiently, accurately and to the required standards.
- Collaborating closely with developers to investigate issues and identify root causes to support fast and effective resolution.
- Providing regular, transparent reporting on test progress, results, metrics and risks to keep stakeholders informed and aligned.
- Ensuring full engineering assurance and governance by demonstrating compliance with all relevant processes, standards, safety and quality requirements.
- Using strong analytical, verbal and numerical reasoning skills to positively influence technical discussions and contribute to high-quality engineering outcomes.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Software or System Test Engineer, ideally within an engineering environment, with strong knowledge of system integration testing for complex systems.
- A solid understanding of software test methodologies across the full development lifecycle and hands-on experience writing effective test cases, specifications and scripts.
- Proficiency with ALM tools (with DOORS being a strong advantage) and the ability to understand project milestones and the impact of your deliverables.
- Excellent analytical, diagnostic and organisational skills, enabling you to manage time effectively and work to deadlines.
- Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to create clear, concise and comprehensive technical documentation.
- A willingness to travel within the UK and overseas when required, and ideally holding an ISEB Foundation Certificate in Software Testing (desirable).
