Job description

Your new company

You'll be joining a global technology organisation delivering critical digital transformation programmes across the public sector. Working on a high-profile government account, you'll contribute to large-scale platforms that support millions of users across the UK.

Your new role

As a Software Developer, you will be responsible for designing, building, and improving modern software solutions that meet user needs. Working within an Agile environment, you will develop high-quality, secure, and scalable applications, contributing to the delivery of key public services.

You will work across the full development lifecycle, writing clean code, supporting production systems, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives. The role follows a "you build it, you run it" approach, giving you ownership of the services you develop. This is a hybrid role with on-site collaboration expected, particularly during the early stages of the project.

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • Strong experience in software development and engineering best practices
  • Knowledge of Java or Scala-based development
  • Experience working within microservices architectures and API-driven environments
  • Understanding of cloud platforms such as AWS
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and test-driven development
  • Strong understanding of systems integration and service support

Desirable:

  • Exposure to containerisation (Kubernetes/ECS)
  • Experience with modern frontend technologies such as React or Node.js
  • Experience working within public sector or regulated environments

What you'll get in return

  • £310 per day (Inside IR35) [Software D...eloper_142 | Word]
  • Long-term contract with a high-profile government programme
  • Opportunity to work on large-scale, modern cloud-based systems
  • Exposure to best-in-class engineering practices and tooling
  • Collaborative Agile team environment
