Leidos is seeking a Cyber Infrastructure Specialist, Lead to support the U.S. Air Force Defensive Cyber Systems Program Management Office at Joint Base San Antonio. This leadership role oversees an operational team responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and sustaining next- cyber defense mission systems that enable downstream Air Force cyber operations.

The Lead provides operational leadership and technical oversight to ensure the continuous availability, performance, and integrity of mission-critical cyber systems. This includes oversight of system alert monitoring, operational health validation, maintenance execution, and configuration management activities. The team ensures that cyber defense systems remain functional, compliant, and ready to deliver required data and services to downstream operational customers.

This position is accountable for maintaining operational readiness, enforcing procedural discipline, coordinating with engineering and mission stakeholders, and proactively identifying risks to system availability. The role focuses on mission system sustainment and enablement rather than direct cyber threat response activities., * Lead and supervise an operational team responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and sustaining mission-critical cyber defense systems

  • Provide operational oversight of system alert monitoring, health dashboards, status indicators, and performance metrics to ensure continuous system availability
  • Ensure timely identification, analysis, and coordination of system-level degradations, outages, or performance issues impacting mission systems
  • Oversee execution of routine and scheduled maintenance activities, operational checks, and service validations to maintain system readiness
  • Govern configuration management activities, ensuring approved changes are implemented in accordance with established change control and compliance requirements
  • Establish and enforce operational procedures focused on system reliability, availability, and mission continuity
  • Coordinate with engineering teams, Tier 1/2/3 support, and government stakeholders to resolve complex system issues and restore services
  • Monitor system performance trends and proactively identify risks that could impact downstream operational customers
  • Manage staffing, workload distribution, and shift coverage to ensure uninterrupted sustainment operations
  • Review and validate incident documentation, service tickets, and operational reports for accuracy and completeness
  • Provide system health reporting, readiness assessments, and operational status updates to program leadership and government representatives
  • Mentor and develop team members to reinforce operational discipline, technical proficiency, and accountability
  • Coordinate with Sixteenth Air Forces Cyber, AFLCMC/HNCD, engineering teams, installation Communications Focal Points (CFPs), and vendors to resolve system-level issues impacting mission systems

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S.
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field and at least 6 years of relevant experience and 2 years leading teams - or - equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Demonstrated experience leading technical teams in a 24x7 operational environment such as a mission support center, NOC, cyber operations platform team, or enterprise systems operations organization
  • Experience overseeing system monitoring, operational health validation, and sustainment of enterprise or mission-critical systems
  • Proven experience managing system availability, uptime metrics, and service continuity in support of downstream operational customers
  • Experience governing maintenance execution, configuration management activities, and change control processes in regulated environments
  • Experience troubleshooting enterprise systems, applications, or integrated platforms using structured diagnostic methodologies
  • Working knowledge of operating systems (Windows and/or Linux), endpoint management tools, and enterprise infrastructure concepts
  • Ability to assess system-level incidents, prioritize operational impact, and coordinate cross-functional resolution efforts
  • Working knowledge of cyber defense architectures or monitoring platforms sufficient to oversee sustainment and readiness activities (not direct threat response)
  • Experience supporting DoD customers and operating within DoD IT and security compliance frameworks
  • Strong leadership, decision-making, and communication skills in time-sensitive operational environments

Security and Compliance Requirements

  • Current active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance.
  • Intermediate DoD 8140 work role (521) Cyber Defense Infrastructure Support Specialist certification. See DoD 8140 Qualification Matrix V2.1; Certification Repository tab: https://www.cyber.mil/dod-workforce-innovation-directorate/dod8140/qualification-matrices for listing of intermediate certifications., * Knowledge of IT service management practices, including incident, problem, and change management (e.g., ITIL-based environments)
  • Experience developing operational procedures, readiness reporting, and system health metrics for government stakeholders
  • Prior experience working in a classified or highly regulated environment supporting mission-critical systems
  • Experience with Service Now (creating tickets, using/creating dashboards); SIEM - preferably Elastic SIEM (troubleshooting inputs / connections); SOAR - Palo Alto XSOAR or Splunk (troubleshooting connection to SIEM); Cloud Hosted applications - to include troubleshooting applications on Air Force Cloud One
