Job description
We are seeking a skilled Data/Fiber Optic & Structured Cabling Technician to install, terminate, test, troubleshoot, and maintain fiber optic and copper cabling systems for commercial, and industrial site. The ideal candidate has experience with fiber optic fusion splicing, cable termination, structured cabling standards, and network infrastructure installations while maintaining a strong commitment to quality and safety. Your expertise will ensure seamless connectivity across various facilities, enabling optimal network performance. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects, from small office setups to large-scale data centers, with a focus on delivering exceptional service and technical excellence., * Install and configure network cabling including Cat5, Cat6, fiber optic, and low voltage wiring in commercial and industrial environments.
- Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams to accurately execute installations.
- Perform fiber splicing and termination to ensure high-quality data transmission.
- Use hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently for cable routing, termination, and equipment mounting.
- Troubleshoot network issues related to Ethernet, Cisco routers, Juniper devices, VoIP systems, and telephony equipment.
- Conduct testing with ohmmeters and other diagnostic tools to verify cable integrity and network performance.
- Provide field service support for ongoing maintenance, upgrades, or repairs of network infrastructure in various locations.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and deliver tailored cabling solutions that meet industry standards.
- Maintain detailed documentation of all installations, repairs, schematics, and service reports for record-keeping and future reference.
Requirements
Do you have experience in VoIP?, * Extensive knowledge of computer networking concepts including LAN (Local Area Network), Ethernet standards, and network protocols.
- Hands-on experience with fiber splicing techniques and fiber optic cabling installation.
- Familiarity with Cisco routers, Juniper equipment, Avaya telephony systems, and VoIP technology.
- Ability to read schematics accurately and translate them into physical installations.
- Proficiency with hand tools such as crimpers, wire strippers, punch-down tools as well as power tools used in cabling work.
- Strong electrical experience related to low voltage wiring in compliance with NEC regulations.
- Customer service skills to effectively communicate technical information to clients and team members.
- Experience working in data centers or telecommunication environments is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of schematics for structured cabling systems including Cat5e/Cat6 wiring standards.
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical issues using ohmmeters or similar diagnostic tools efficiently.
